I contacted Weyland prior to purchase for design specifications and received immediate and concise feedback. I purchased both the 1" and 1.5" auger set. The construction of the auger is through the wall of the scotch eye and welded; exactly the design needed for strength and torque. The finish on the tools is most impressive without marring, blemishes, or scarring. The sharpness of the auger and cutting end of scotch eye are also impressive, clean grinds with no burrs. The tools are robust and heavy in weight which lends to easier handling while drilling with auger and batoning scotch eye. Leather sheaths are thick grain, well stitched, and I have no concerns or doubt will hold up well with proper leather maintenance. Completely and extremely satisfied!!

This tool appears well made. I believe the weld goes all the way through the eye, inside ground n buffed to a finished look. It’s stronger. Others have the bit welded just to eye outside handle and seem pitted. Weak. Stick into handle works well, bit cuts, I punch a starter hole and it’s easy. Use w care. The one I received the bit has a few tiny chips out along cutting edge, no big deal (can be sharpened). Used w care (gloves or something covering the bit when holding) the peg maker works, go easy w confidence. One can go w make ur own pegs no problem. This is a fun shop/camp tool, left to ur imagination and skill - no telling - what one can make ! Leather case nicely made. This tool is more expensive than others however well worth the extra $In closing V Goo !!!

My husband absolutely loves his birthday gift. He has already used it to create a mini rocket stove from a log. Great quality & very useful for many things. The holder is of nice quality, also.

I tried the auger, which is sharp on different types of wood and it cuts through everything easy, makes nice holes. The peg maker is harder to use, tried on oak and maple which didn't work out. Those pegs were very hard to remove from the tool. Tried on soft wood, and it worked better. Getting the pegs out of the tool is the hardest part. The tool and pouch a nice quality, but might be easier to make pegs with an axe/knife if you need a harder wood peg

Awesome Tool for survival as well as woodworking. I've already made a stool for a campsite by drilling into the bottom of a piece of slab wood I cut from a tree. Using the auger wrench I shaved down 4 branches and fit them into the holes and made a very sturdy stool. Next project will be to make a ladder.

This is a follow-up order to acquire two more units after an initial purchase last year. I have included this product in each of the family "go packs" but particularly appreciate its coming with a leather belt case. This is a uniquely useful tool that you won't find on a multi-tool. Quality stuff. Well done.

I got mine last week and wanted a chance to try it out before I wrote my very short and simple review. This tool is a must have. Works better than advertised, the sheath is extremely well made just like the tool. Went to the range (our range isn’t the kind ya pay for to shoot at) this weekend and actually used it to make a target frame as well as a rocket stove to keep warm.

I haven’t had a chance to trial this product but it looks to be of great quality both the tool and the pouch.

The ability to make such a strong joint has endless possibilities.Super solid quality 'last forever' construction. It's rare I add a piece of kit to my classic bushcraft bag but this is now in the top 5 items.

Haven’t used it yet, but I’m disappointed in the look of the weld
