Instructions

  1. Tips:
    1. Have another person help balance the beams during assembly.
    2. Refer to the picture gallery for reference.
    3. Use a rubber mallet to avoid damaging your shelving.
  2. The rack is built in two sections: the lower half and the upper half.
  3. First, construct the lower portion of the rack using two short beams, two long beams, and four vertical slotted posts.
  4. Insert four post inserts into the lower slotted posts.
  5. Working on the right side, add two vertical slotted beams onto the post inserts. Have another person hold them steady for you.
  6. Join the upper and lower portions of the rack using one short beam and two long beams.
  7. Repeat the process for the left side using one short beam and the already established long beams.
  8. You may now position the remaining shelves according to your needs.
  9. IMPORTANT: Always join the upper and lower halves of the rack using short and long beams. Post inserts are for alignment purposes only.

Use Cases

A Whalen post insert is a vital component when assembling your storage rack. The top half of the rack must be properly aligned, or it may slip. Without the protective inserts, your posts could bend and become damaged. It is dangerous to assemble the rack without them.

Well, I moved and lost the package of connectors and end-pieces during the move. This product is only the four inter-connecting pieces for the stack, it is not the end-pieces. I supposed I should have called the manufacturer directly for the entire package, but the benefit here is that they shipped fast and got to me when I had the time and need to rebuild that shelving unit.I'm not sure that the shelves really need the end-pieces anyway (that either sit between the shelves and floor, or top-out the columns).I'm also not sure that the shelving units need stronger inter-connecting pieces, but I do believe that these are stronger than the originals. It seems to me that they are glass-reinforced nylon.Note - they come connected together by a thin piece of printed plastic; it is easy to separate them, but a hobby knife, pocket knife or file should be around to take off the little piece of connector remaining for a smooth fit.

Somehow lost the original brackets that came with my Sam's club shelving. These replaced them perfectly.

4 pieces of plastic. Thought for some reason there were at least 16 to replace the ones I lost for the whole shelving unit. To replace them it will cost me $50. May as well buy a new unit. Why is your price so high?

We bought these to replace the ones our movers lost for our Costco Shelves, they fit perfectly. I would give them a 5 star if the price was not so high for a set of 4.
