Came in great shape, good box, no problems with any damage, came perfectly straight and true with spokes at a good tension. Looks like a fantastic wheel for the value. Has a few more spokes than my old one so no worries on sturdiness, already rode ~1500 miles of bikepacking gear on the old ones and it just started popping spokes after about 7000 miles so this should make an excellent replacement.

Can't speak on the hub yet, but out of the box I put the wheel next to a double wall that I taco'd, and you can easily see this rim has way thicker walls than my old rim. That's a big part of where durability comes from. (I'm 230LB, and have been through a few rims in my day) Surprised to see how these stack up next to a stock double wall. They're a solid upgrade or replacement, at a good price.

I'd been chasing creaking noises coming from my Trek X-Caliber 7 for quite some time. In the process, I changed out my cassette, chain, and rear derailleur. I lubed my pedals, chain, and suspension seatpost. The creaking persisted. I thought maybe it was my bottom bracket, but read in an online forum that the spokes and nipples on my rims could be the culprits. I started with the front wheel, but that didn't solve the problem. So I bought the rear one, installed it, and took my first ride. Almost complete silence! The only noise I heard was the hum of my knobby tires on the pavement. I can honestly say my bike has never sounded this quiet, ever. I give it 4 stars because I think the hole for the valve stem could have been drilled larger. It is supposed to be drilled for a Schrader valve, but my original Presta valve stems fit just fine.

Added a 9 speed Advent cassette 11-46, pleased with fit. It is no louder than stock hub while coasting.

Wish it came with 15 gauge spokes, but such is life. Otherwise, great wheel, it's true and the spokes tight. The hub is equal to a Shimano, only difference is the retainer ring for freehub is different and I don't have a wrench to fit it. Shimano uses a hex wrench, and this uses a ring with notches in it.

after just maybe 100 miles mostly on gravel road this wheel broke on the inside ,the hub part just snapped in half . before that i had a wheel on for 10 years and it never broke -its on trek mamba and i thought i was upgrading ,this wheel is a total garbage.i contacted the company and no answer.on the wheel it says made in the usa-what a shame, they couldn give me one for free anyway

I pruchased this to double check a weird slipping I was having with my current rear wheel. The wheel was a good value for the price but there a few issues:I ordered the 'schrader valve' version but the schrader valve of my inner tube would not fit in the valve hole. I had to also purchase a 'presta' valve inner tube to fit.The rim is quite narrow, probably made for 2.25" wide tires. I could not find this spec anywhere in the description but maybe I missed it (my bad) My 29 X 2.6" tire still fit on the rim, though. The wheel comes with a new quick release skewer.

I'm a cheapskate when it comes to buying replacement parts due to how often I replace parts as a commuter and not just an enthusiast or hobby cyclist. Didn't have to true it when it arrived and it still stands up to the abuse I put it through on my daily commute a year and a half later. It lives on my 2014 Fuji Cross 1.5 with a 2x10 Shimano Tiagra groupset/drivetrain running on 700c snow tires right now. Great wheel for the value and would recommend it to anyone who is looking for durability.
