I was surprised this wheel was a lot heavier than 1 that came with the bike. Exact item as advertised

It served my needs but one tiny problem.I live at a homeless shelter in Fort Worth, TX, there are many people, some crazy, who sometimes pin me down in long weird conversations. I recieved the wheel in very good time, and having all necessary tools required went down to a spot behind some warehouses by some railroad tracks to minimize the odds of any human contact. Good timing and quickness were IMPERATIVE for the primary goal of replacing old warped wheel, secondarily avoiding long weird conversations. The entire process should've taken less than 10 minutes. After transferring everything from old wheel to new one - tire, inner-tube freewheel, and even correctly inflating it to the correct pressure - i reinstalled it. There was a constant stress during the process in that there was a crazy person about a hundred meters away mumbling to himself, i feared he might notice me. Additionally, i was EXTREMELY eager to have a tru back wheel with smooth cones and bearings, and regain use of my rear brakes.I adjusted the rear brakes, and put all my tools up. I collected all the garbage, and a plethora of other strewn out odds and ends, and noticed that the crazy mumbler was no longer there. As I excitedly began to pedal off, pleased with my readiness, efficiency and organization, i felt and and heard a horrible grinding. I also noticed two people 50 meters away at the warehouse talking, occasionally looking at me. My excitement immediately turned to frustration, fear gripped me.Turns out the spacers on the axle were either wrong or backwards, and I didn't have cone wrenches, as the shelter had impounded them as contraband. In the demoralizing hours that followed, during the peak of frustration in the sweltering July Texas heat, one of the warehouse guys wandered over and engaged me in a weird conversation terminating with 'Why aren't you over there in the shade?'.Anyway, managed to get it resolved and pedalled off. Wheel is very good except a bit warped from my attempt to move the hub over by adjusting the spoke nuts and accidentally loosening or tightening wrong ones due to being in a rush, impairing my concentration.

This is the worst bike wheel I’ve ever used. Out of the box, the axle had no grease and didn’t move smoothly. I thought that wasn’t a big deal and fixed it. I noticed that it would bend at the slightest bit of torque but I figured that it just needed to be worked in and alighted again. I did that and it never got better. I kept having to align the rim by tightening spokes and it got to a point where a few spokes snapped. They weren’t stripped or broken at the head. No they were pulled through the rim. I didn’t even know this was possible till it happened. This is the biggest piece of crap I have ever seen. The rim isn’t stiff at all.

Purchased this wheel to replace the rear wheel on my son's mountain bike that had a bunch of broken spokes. Wheel came in requiring basically no adjustment, turned very true and spokes all seemed properly adjusted, ready to go. Hardest part was getting the free-wheel cassette off the old wheel! Do wish this wheel came with a new inner tube spoke head protector band... had to use the old one, but otherwise everything went together great and pretty easily and son is back in business with his bike on college campus!

Got this to refurbish a 20yo mountain bike on the cheap. Bought tire, liner, and tube at the same time everything went together well but setting the wheel bearing preload took forever. I replaced the freewheel cassette since no way was the old one coming off. Anyway while setting up I notice the cassette moving side to side when I spin the wheel and no, it isn't crossthreaded. Don't know if the hub threads or the cassette is off but I can live with it. Few more odds & ends including brake pads and I'm good to go.Will update if any surprises.

It came in a reasonable time I was a worried that it wont fit my 7 speed Free wheel It came in yesterday and it fits on my free wheel and on The vertical drop out on my schwinn ranger The only problem. I have with it now is the rim isen't the same that came with the bike its allot more wider I just need to adjust my brakes and it. Will be fine and make sure you have a extra rim strip or steal one off your old wheel because it dosent come with one I haven't Yet rode it. But ill make a seccond review. If something pops up one more thing make sure you add a small snout of appropriate. Grease. To the thread where the free wheel. Goes on because. It was extremely hard to take off the free wheel from my old wheel if you might need more leverage and don't have a cheater bar use your seat post if its wide enough. It worked for me I hoped. This initial. Review. Helped. You

I mostly ride my mountain bike on road and off road terrain to go to University. Of course riding on actual bumpy hills will probably not facilitate that. You pay for what you get. Steel is strong and colour finish is nice however, I seen some scratches on this rim but nothing noticeable really. By the way, it does fit a Pressa valve but it still wiggles in the housing hole so I highly suggest using two of the spacer presta rings. One close to the actual tube and one on top of the rim to tighten it firmly onto the rim.
