This is a replacement for our previous steamer of the same design which we have had about 10 or more years of daily use. Our old one worked fine but was placed too close to a hot pan on the stovetop and melted through making it unusable.The new product seems to have finer finish details than the first and we're looking forward to another 10 + years of daily use.

If you have a steam/simmer function on your microwave, you will love learning to use this . Seemed large, clunky , maybe a bit light weight and strange ..for about one use then became a most-used thing in my kitchen.

This item arrived and it is a KitchenAid product it says on the lid made in China and it came with no instructions on how to use it etc. I guess I’ll Google it and watch YouTube to find out how to use this thing but it is definitely not a whirlpool product. It is from the whirlpool companies, but it is a KitchenAid product. This is a clear case of false advertisementThe steamer does work quite well but not dishwasher safe

Best corn on the cob! Any vegetable that you eat steams perfectly in this. Plus you can use it as a serving dish. Great quality.

Works well but lid doesn’t like to stay on firmly, just rests on top. 4 to 8 minutes and you have perfectly done vegetables

The steam/simmer button on my KitchenAide microwave requires this type of equipment. I've used it about 10 times for fresh vegetable, i.e. potatoes and carrots. Once in the microwave, it estimates the weight of the contents and if you agree, ie 1 -4 cups, the microwave senses the amount and has cooked the vegetable perfectly every time. Works beautifully of asparagus as well
