After 20 yrs my Kelty ZEN tent fly began to leak along some seams. Ordered this tape and the instructions say to apply with an iron. Kelty responded to my inquiry whether it was safe to apply with an iron with a pretty emphatic “no.†They said send the fly back to us and we’ll “see if we can help.†No time for all of that at the height of the season because who knows how long that’ll take, when I’ll get back, and at what cost? So, I have a commercial heat gun from when I was in the contacting biz. This tape is very thin but sticky so I just rolled it out along the seam and directed heat from the heat gun to the tape then pressed it into place without having to apply an iron directly to the fly fabric. The tape is really sticky when warmed up. I suppose you could even apply it with a household hair dryer. So far, so good. The tape is holding well. I did this by myself with one hand on the gun and the other rolling out the tape. If you actually had two people, one working the heat gun and the other applying the tape, this would be a super simple repair.

I purchased this to replace the seal seams on 3 of my Sea to Summit Sil Nylon Dry bags. While the bags were like new the seam seals had deteriorated to the point that the bags were no longer water proof. The tape did not come with any instructions or paper work so I watched numersous YouTube videos to see how I should apply it. After spending several hours doing that I proceeded to try it on my least favorite of the 3 bags. After I was comfortable with the temperture setting of my iron and the amount of time that I should leave the iron in contact I proceeded to tape all 3 of my bags. The new seams looked buautiful so I waiting for everthing to cool and gave it about 4 hours to settle. At this point I put water in each of the dry bags to see if I had fixed the problem. The bottom line is that all 3 leaked exactly the same as before. - At the bottom seam. In summary, I wasted most of the day and purchased this "non returnable" Seam seal tape. I do not recommend this product.

Purchased to repair a polyester rain shell with peeling seam tape. I used an iron on the "syn" setting and parchment paper between the iron and the tape. It stuck well to the plastic-y coating, but had trouble in places where the inner layer has peeled away. Overall it worked well enough for my purposes so I would use it again.

This seam tape was just what I needed for my DIY dry bags. Application was very straightforward, adhesion and seam seal are excellent. Will purchase again for other projects requiring seam sealing.

I’ve bought seam tape before that was sticky on one side and assumed this was. It is not sticky. However that is probably my oversight.

Used a couple of pieces as practice to figure out the correct iron settings as it came with no instructions, works just fine. Used to reinforce seams on a winter coat and waterproof travel bag, and as though it's not as sturdy as the description described, still does the trick. Would not recommend for any "waterproofing" but rather for sealing any small holes from stitching... but for the price can't complain.

Very good product, worked as intended. Managed to replace the tape of my Northface jacket. Place a thin towel on top of the tape and press for 10-15sec with synthetic/silk setting on iron. Hope tape holds up well.

It was my first time having to alter a waterproof/windproof jacket and it meant resealing the armhole seam.this tape was a nice thickness yet still worked around the curves and sealed in place with a regular iron.I would definitely buy this product again.
