Well made. Used to sew outdoor umbrella cover. Takes time, a stitch at a time but gets the job done.

I use this to patch up my leather work gloves so it's not used much. It works like intended and is better than what I was doing. I really don't see how you could sew thick leather with this. I have trouble getting the needle through the gloves. The kit is as described and works.

I like the variety of thread and the usefulness of the tool. Item exactly as described. There does need to be an instruction sheet included as to loading bobbin and threading.

Repairing a 1950s flimsy (cardboard) Fender Lap guitar case with leather to replace the plastic leatherette binding show hardened and disintigrated. I found a YouTube video of a similar repair using this awl.It takes a bit of work to get beyond the learning curve and it seems like if I go a week before continuing it's starting over with no idea how I did such a good job last time. This is a great tool

It worked great easy to use and set up but the round thread guide broke off during the 1st time I used it.

Both needles are large and hard to insert. Use pliers. Don't do anything fancy like drilling the needle receiver. It's meant for smaller needles too. Needles aren't very sharp. I've sharpened them a little. Lots of good thread. I use this to secure dog collars, sewing their name in them. With some of these adjustable collars, if the top loop gets caught on something, it can cinch up the collar and choke the dog. Get the collar size just right and sew it to prevent this. You're welcome!
