This is the perfect size bore for a hydro(hydraulic hand brake) for stock and even bigger (Z32) for S chassis (240sx's). I've used and built numerous setups and tried the 3/4" bore that parts shop max likes to sell with theirs and while it did work decent on my s14 with stock rears, it wouldn't work at all even on brand new rebuilt calipers on another s13 for my teammate. If you want more travel and a much softer feel all while having a much much much better bite and friction zone, the 5/8" is it. It's honestly amazing how much better this feels for the application over a 3/4". Night and day. The theory is less volume and more pressure(yes I'm sure you all know) but I'm just reiterating because of how much I love my hydro now. I usually prefer the cable brake feel but want the consistency and higher clamping of a hydro. This is where it's at for sure. No need to run a dual caliper setup unless running Pro Am or FD series that require it, an inline setup on stock rears with this will lock up 265's at 80 in a straight line with NO issues. No jerking the thing, no hard solid wall feeling, just nice consistent lock up with a comfortable pull that allows pressure modulation. Never been happier with a hydro setup than with a 5/8" on anyone I've setup. Good luck!

I bought this to replace the cheap master that come on the ebay hydro handbrake sticks. Had to swap over the threaded rod from the stock one, but that's the levers fault, not the master cylinder. It locks up the rear disk brakes on my clapped out G-body Monte Carlo... Incase anyone is looking to make a 3500lb full frame car into a drifter. (Why have I done this?)

except for the completely odd size rear hole it works fine. Good luck finding a fitting that will fit into the rear hole. I had to drill and tap for a 1/4 pipe.

For some reason when modulating the return to startimg position seems very bindy like theres friction inside the cylinder overcoming the return spring sometimes. I returned it and recieved a new one with the same problem definitely a batch issue or something. Im using it as a master for a hydro hand brake setup it works at building and holding pressure its just that one issue. After bleeding the system twice and mounting this twice im content with dealing with that minor issue.

This was a great product arrived fast to my house via UPS. Definitely not a knock off solid structure great for my drift car so it is used a lot if you need a hydro e brake and looking for a master cylinder this will do the job
