About this item

  • Adjustable proportioning valve
  • Pressure adjustments range from 100-1000 PSI
  • Fine tune the front to rear braking balance by proportionally decreasing the rear brake line pressure
  • Valves weigh only 5.2 ounces
  • Standard in and out ports are 1/8-27 NPT

The new generation of adjustable proportioning valves combines the latest refinements to deliver precise pressure metering and strength from a compact forged billet design. Pressure adjustments range from 100-1000 PSI and provide for a maximum decrease of 57% in line pressure, the most of any available valve. Adjuster knob with fine thread tuning provides precise pressure adjustment. Valves weigh only 5.2 ounces and have two .25” side mounting holes spaced 1.00” apart. Inlet / outlet ports are 1/8-27 NPT and valves are supplied with two 1/8-27 NPT to 3/8-24 inverted flare female fittings that will fit most domestic 3/16th hard brake lines

I needed a proportioning valve and the stock one for my truck is not made anymore and this one works great with the added benefit of being adjustable

This seems like a great proportional brake valve, but beware if you are trying to install on a Toyota (and possible also Suzuki) application. Toyotas have metric M10x1.0 brake line fittings that do not mate with either port option provided with this valve. The threads in the stock brake lines are deep and even if you purchase a 1/8-27 NPT male to M10x1.0 adaptor with inverted flare (which is nearly impossible to find), it STILL will not work because the vehicle brake line fitting threads are too deep and the adaptor fitting is too shallow.Wilwood does sell a separate metric proportional brake valve for metric applications, but it's unclear whether its female ports include an inverted flare. Proceed with caution:)

I replaced the bed load actuated proportioning valve on my 27 year old Toyota pick-up. Front brakes were locking up and I skidded dangerously, especially on wet roads. This was a tough install with a custom modification to the bracket and custom line attachments. I bought a line that matched this then cut the metric ones off my brake lines and flared the new fittings onto the existing lines. Had to plug the return line at the front brakes "T" but everything fit and worked well. Adjustment takes time with trial and readjustment, but if you mount this unit where it is reasonably accessible, it is easy. For heavy loads, I can either drive more carefully or readjust. I brake much more safely now. Good product.

I consider that this device works in an excellent way but I must tell you that when I recently bought it I noticed that it was not of great quality.Despite that, a long time has passed and I used it a lot and it continues to work without giving any problem. It has a precision that you will like.

Still made in the USA, and still great quality at a price that's not far off some of the Chinese made proportioning valves. I bought this to replace a 23 year old Wilwood valve (prior model), just for piece of mind due to it's age. The old one still works though, which is a testament to the quality of the prior design. Only suggestion on this is to pay attention to the part number you're ordering - the valve doesn't differ, but the diameter and thread pitch of the included adapters do. Great part.
