Very happy with this item. Originally I thought I'd save $40 and get myself one of those dual lever hand corkers. That was a mistake, so I returned that item and got this instead. I just got it yesterday. The only assembly required is to remove the washer and bolt on the bottom, and replace them with the back legs in place. I only used 3 corks in an empty bottle to adjust the stop nut on the lever arm which sets the seating height of the cork.I then proceeded to fill 24 bottles of mead. I was able to cork all the bottles in 7 minutes. The most frustrating part of the whole cooking process was me being "OCD" over the stamp on the corks I bought all being oriented the same way. I used #9 corks this time which provided some resistance, but nowhere near what I would have been dealing with a dual-lever corker.I'm going to be letting my elderly and semi-arthritic neighbor use some of my equipment to make some wine this summer and I'm fully confident she'll be more than capable of using this corker on her own without assistance.You should be aware that this corker is not tall. If you use it on the floor you'll want a low stool or chair, or to even sit on the floor. It would work great on a counter or table to provide extra leverage pulling the lever down, but it's worth noting there are no feet supplied on the machine. Some felt adhesive pads will prevent maring surfaces. There's also holes on the legs that will accept rubber feet with bolts which will better prevent slipping.In short: this is WELL WORTH the extra $40 or so over the dual lever corker, and provides SIGNIFICANT value compared to more expensive floor corkers.

Short and sweet. Holds the bottle in place, easily adjusts for bottle size and how deep the cork can enter the bottle. No more needing a second pair of hands and I haven't had the first accident 200 bottles in now.

I received this corker 2 months ago and used it first time right now and it wasn’t working. I had no idea one as the reviews are pretty good. I ask my friend to help and he brought his corker and surprised it was the same corker but has other parts mine was missing. His corker worked perfectly. I will contact the seller and see if i can get a new unit. My time for return expired already

Been using one of these for over15 years - never really cleaned it, it finally rusted out from the K-meta solution coming off my corks. Bought my second one, it will last 15+ years. These things are great and easy to use.

This Wine Bottle Corker is by far the best hand corker I've used. It comes basically fully assembled. You only have the attach the rear leg piece with one screw. After that, it's ready to use. The bottle base plate is spring action, so there is no height adjustments need. Position the bottle, load the cork, and pull the handle. It's also balanced. I breezed through corking my complete set of 24 bottles in no time.I would buy again, but it looks like it's built to last forever. So far, it's worth every penny!

Great quality, NEEDS TO COME WITH BASIC OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS. easy to build took a minute to guess how to operate the the size adjustment for the bottle sizer.
