On their own, they are minimally warm, have a small amount of insulating material and I had issues getting them to stay up on my ears. They tended to slip down and the angles didn't match my head/ears.Over top of a beanie that doesn't fully cover my ears, they stay on, don't slide down and provide that little extra bit of warming cover for my ears.Probably not your first line of ear warming, but OK as an adjunct to other head gear.

I've been having some trouble with the ear muff. Even though it's adjustable, it keeps slipping off my ears, which is frustrating. The fabric material used is of low quality, and it doesn't provide the comfort I was looking for. Overall, the ear muff is quite disappointing and not up to the standard I expected.

I enjoy the design of this earmuff as it is not bulky like other earmuffs but it keeps your ears and face just as warm as those bigger ones. It is straight black and it's a minimalist design so it works and keeps working, but it doesn't yell "look at me!". The longest I've had to wear this on a mountain trek was 6 hours and in that entire time I did not get headband fatigue nor did my ears start to feel any type freezing. This is an excellent product for the value, and it was designed well and works perfectly in our mountainous sub-zero temperatures.
