Love this door bell. Color looks perfect on the green paint. It is heavy duty and easy to install.

This doorbell matches the style of our house and other fixtures perfectly. I ordered two but have only installed one so far. This first one very quickly experienced intermittent failures, sometimes not actuating the doorbell when depressed and one time actuating, and staying actuated, without being depressed. I twice attempted to contact A29 directly via their website's "Contact Us" messaging system (the little popup dialog in the bottom right of their website's window). Both times my messages were not responded to even after a week or so each time. I decided to try once more, this time using their email system. They responded within a day and promptly sent two new doorbells (less than one week from the email contact to resolve the issue and have new doorbells in hand). I have replaced the defective one and all is well so far. Excellent customer service. The jury is still out on the doorbell itself, but A29 shined with their customer service.

This doorbell looks great and feels sturdy on my 1947 cape. The black color matches my updated black lighting fixtures and lock hardware and was similar enough in dimension to use as a replacement for the old one. However, this doorbell has a large 1 inch protrusion on the back which prevented me from easily re-installing in the original location of the old flush mounted doorbell. I had to build a “prosthetic†because it was impossible to drill a hole in the brick without damaging the wiring. I discovered that gallon paint sticks were the perfect width and cut 4 pieces to length, gorilla glueing them together to form a block which I clamped and let sit overnight. Next I cut a hole with a 3/4 spade bit that would accept the protrusion and painted it white to match the house paint. I drilled pilot holes that aligned with the original doorbell installation and screwed the block only to the house using the original doorbell screws which fortunately would be covered by the new doorbell. With the block attached, I drilled pilot holes for the new decorative screws provided with the new doorbell and tightened with a regular screwdriver. The provided screws were too short to go thru the doorbell and mounting block and house and didn’t align with the old holes anyway. It took a lot of doing but it was worth the effort.

This is a heavy duty doorbell. We were surprised by the weight of it compared to our last one that came on our house. Looks great!

This is a good looking doorbell that is easy enough to install....except the included screws broke off. I predrilled starter holes for the screws in wood trim. First screw was able to be hand driven with no problem. Second screw got about half-way in and broke while turning. Fortunately, the doorbell came with an extra screw. Unfortunately, it broke off as well. So, to complete install, had to replace screws and work the broken screws out of the wood. Finally got it installed and looks good.
