The result being that I now have a functional crossbow! (Side note: I was unable to get the string on with the end caps on. Luckily it functions fine without them.)

We own both the 120Lb Black and 130Lb Tan camouflage folding limb crossbow and this device is a must have for replacing frayed or broken strings quickly. Makes it easy enough for my wife to change a string all by herself. In a nutshell it's a lifesaver. The item arrived promptly and we would highly recommend both the product and the seller.

Overall this is a good product. I did a search for stringer cables and found very few hits and this one seemed the most serviceable and reasonably priced. I ordered two because the price was decent and because my first stringer cable that came with the crossbow broke so I was rather skeptical these would not suffer the same fate. Thankfully I only had to use one and it didn't break before I could string the crossbow. Looking at it afterward though it definitely showed the strain of use, particularly with the plastic coating being deformed. I estimate that it might have one or two uses out of it before I have to switch to the second one I ordered though, of course, the crossbow string shouldn't fray or break or become useless for quite awhile so I still consider the investment worthwhile.

The stringer/cocking aid is actually too long for the crossbow Jaguar crossbow, and it is advertised to work with my model. It should be 2-3 inches shorter to bend the limb enough to get the strings on & off easily.

I currently own 5 crossbows right now, have had as many as 7 at one time. As far as I'm concerned, next to a bow press, a cable stringer is the easiest and safest way to replace a bowstring, both for you and your crossbow limbs.

This is embarrassing, I'm a longbow guy and just getting into crossbows. Although I have strung crossbows before, have an ancient one that I'm still trying to make a new string for, I bought a new crossbow recently, stouter and with a scope, and although I read the directions for stringing and the company provided a stringing string, I had forgotten the system even though I read the directions three times. So I did it wrong, you will find out there are ways to do this wrong if you persevere. My only solution was to cut the steel cable crossbow cable stringer in two places and buy a new one. Luckily they are cheap. Next time I will remember the trick. Yes, you need this, modern crossbows are way stronger than the ancient ones. Compare rifles to slingshots, it's kind of like that.
