I was searching for a " nice" way to get people's attention, and this bell is just the ticket! If you are cruising down at the beach, and somebody is daydreaming & walking in traffic lane, using your horn, or yelling just feels too harsh! A polite ring of the bell helps everybody know you are approaching, but without being confrontational! Using horn just gets people mad, when you just want to "wake them up"!Also great when somebody stays motionless well after light turns green. A friend used his horn at left turn lane in that situation and got a ticket for unnecessary use of horn- (car 2 cars up was a police car--oops!)I installed a "momentary" toggle switch under dash near parking brake handle. This allows easy actuation of bell, and trigger action allows you to give a light ding, or full or repeated rings of bell. The tone of bell is not overly loud, yet reminds me of the larger bell used on local fire trucks!I used a relay (for full power to bell, and to not put load on switch), and a fuse for safety. The bell has a name that sounds kinda like a joke, but THIS BELL IF FOR REAL! Not huge, but can be heard CLEAR AS A BELL! Love it, worth every penny.

I have had one in my car for 9 years. It is very popular with all who hear it. I just bought a second one for another car. It's great to have for signaling "Hello" or letting cyclists or pedestrians know you are coming, and less jarring and impolite than the car horn. It does Ding Ding (one note) rather than Ding Dong (two), but it is excellent nonetheless. It's fun and gives the car character. The sound quality is great. I have never had a problem with it.

The bell is quite sturdy, as advertised. However, the mounting bracket was not attached to the bell or included with the other parts. Rather than go through the return/replace hassle I am making one at home. We are installing the bell up front on our hybrid Toyota. People keep stepping in front of us in parking lots and other places because they don't look and they can't hear the electric motor. A backup alarm is installed for the same reason.

When they say don't run this for more than 3 seconds at a time, they mean it. I had it burned up within 10 minutes of installing. Used a toggle switch and turn signal flasher to pulse the bell since its soleinoid only gives the bell a single strike. Continuous use of say 30 seconds as you would want in a city to warn people will not work with this bell or you will fry it. Way too cheap for any automotive application. Why didn't the manufacturer address this cycle time and the pulsing issue when they built the unit? I would not purchase another.

OH, WOLO, why have you discontinued this bell?! I LOVE it and have had one in my cars for years. So what if it actually doesn't go "Ding Dong", if you push the button twice it makes a great, "DING DING" sound! PLEASE make more!!

I bought this for a train crossing sign project in my son's room. The crossing lights were LED, so they didn't take much power, this thing draws over 15 amps (180Watts) when cycled. Now I am scratching my head on how to salvage the project without adding a huge expensive power supply.

This is a quality, made-in-Italy product. My main complaint is that it isn't loud enough, it is good for driving in the city and alerting pedestrians and cyclists of you presence. It is not loud enough to alert other drivers. It is not a substitute for a horn.

Very disapointed. The Bell is listed as a Ding Dong. I belived I was getting a copy of the old bermuda bell. However when I installed it the bell only went Ding.I called the company and they admit that they misrepresented it.They told me to send it back for a refund. However, after paying to have it installed and the price of it...I'll live with it for awhile. However, I suggest that you don't trust Wolo. I've heard their other horns don't meet up with much approval.
