I needed some 3/8" plug cut out of maple. These arrived, and I had them cut in just a few minutes. The one I used seemed very sharp, I can only assume the remainder are also.I don't need a lot of plugs, but when I do I am glad I have this set.

As far as cutting plugs they are not very good. However I used the product to remove boards when the screw heads were damaged. I was working with treated pine so maybe that could have some effect on cutting plugs. In my opinion, toast not good plug cutters.

I tried various speeds on my drill press, but cutting 3/8 inch plugs in walnut, burnt the wood. For pine it works fine

I don't know if it's because they're cheap/dull or what, but the tapered cutters don't cut a tapered plug which is the entire reason I got them... There's also no indication as to which is tapered and which is straight, so I had to use both on some extra scrap just to find out that neither are tapered.

It is nice to be able to make my own plugs, I just wish there had been SOME sort of documentation, instructions, anything. Had to hunt on YouTube for over an hour to get any information about these.

Must use a drill press. If you plan on using a hand drill, the bit will dance all over the place so that’s not an option.
