This “toy†teaches my toddler granddaughter so much about number/quantity sense. I had one for my own children when they were small and they all went off to school not only with reading readiness but also number readiness.

I bought one for my nephew age 4, and one for my son age 3 for Christmas. I'm hoping to using it in the new year as in intro to counting.

The visual aid this provides and organization is worth it all. This has been a huge help for my little learning to add and subtract

Here we have a toy that not only has the perfect counting apparatus involving beads on rods that are all contained so they can be slid down the rods as the child counts by ones or fives or tens or twos all the way to 100, but it also comes with cards to challenge the child to solve simple math equations! Most any child can do this activity, with or without the help of an adult after a brief explanation! Very simple and understandable, and a great way to self-teach! Would make an excellent gift but would probably recommend for a child that is already interested in math or counting or one who finds excitement and enjoyment out of toys without batteries or cartoons or computers or else you might not get much 'wow' factor if that is what your hope for when giving a gift to a child. However, every preschool to kindergarten and possibly first grade schoolroom should have one of these! (and every home) What a difference it could make to the understanding of math at earlier ages if everyone had access to this toy early in life!

I like this abacus and am grateful for the functionality of this purchase, however, I gave it 4 stars because the base isn't wide enough which causes it to easily tip when my son is using it to solve problems. Perhaps, a little bit of a wider base would improve the functionality.

To teach kindergarten kids math in the most simplest and yet a fun way, they understand the concept of math better and feels motivated to learn using the abacus. Allows them to focus, use their hands and at the same time it’s like they’re playing a game with sticks, cards, colours, and the wooden beads in the frame.
