I noticed one reviewer complained because of the width of the wedge. I guess he doesn't know how easily wood can be split with the grain. What I saw in the ad was what I got, and works as it should. 5 stars

Kind of expensive for what it is, the metal parts sink in well an the wedges are made, but like the other guy in the reviews mentioned, its kinda soft wood, Pounding the wedge in with a flat surface and hammer had most of the top fray out and started to break apart. Its mixed heavily with wood glue and I worried about its ability to hold stuff but it didn't really matter for me because I was putting a steel pin in to hold it down anyway.

A little large for my small hatchet, I had to trim both the wood and the steel wedge down a bit, but then they worked great. In my full size axe, the other pair should work fine as is.
