I wish it had a heavy weight for the base. It does hold your glasses and phone. But it easily tips because the base is so light weight.

I would say this holder is a hoot, but I don't think it is an owl. Whatever type of bird it is portraying, it is a lot of fun. It securely holds a pair of glasses with the "v" notch at the top of the head with the beak serving as the nose for the bird to wear the glasses. The tail curves at an angle to hold either a cell phone or a remote (TV or fan ones fit, at least the ones which we have). It adds a touch of whimsy wherever it stands. There isn't a cushioning/non-slip surface on the bottom, but that could easily be added if so desired. The wood is nice also.
