I really like the tool set, and I have put it to great use. That being said, the carrying case that it comes in is absolute garbage. Half of the inside supports (that separated the tools) were either broke upon delivery, or broke within minutes of opening the box. If you don't care about the case, I would recommend the tools.

I have used many variations of this product in the past but this one is just perfect. Item arrived sooner than expected and was packaged accordingly. This product was exactly what I wanted and when I need more I will certainly order from this vendor. A real quality product.

The top of the case was split on arrival. Nails in the molded plastic handle protruded through the inside of the case and badly gouged the sole of the bench plane. The square is far from square. The dividers in box were broken away from each other. The block plane was in pieces it's blade and hand rest were loose in the case when I opened it. the frog of the bench plane was installed incorrectly, the handle wracks, and it's blade was machined at a skewed bevel. Everything in the case is covered in a heavy machine grease and grinder dust. The lacquer on the some of the wooden parts has drips and pits. If I would have read the reviews before making this purchase I never would have. I can keep going on about how bad this set is. But I think I have made my point. Don't buy this unless you enjoy retooling tools more woodworking. Buyer Beware!

I got this as a surprise for my husband. Even though I don't get it (because I'm a girl), he loves it and takes it with him on every job. Sometimes I think he takes it just because he wants to show people this cool thing he has!! I'm very glad I got it for him.

Took delivery of this kit less than a week after ordering, opened it to discover some serious shiftage of the contents sue to shoddy construction and rough handling. No big deal that, but as I investigated further, I found that the smoothing plane had areas of rust on the sole as well as under the frog-this despite being slathered in a thick coating of grease. Got that scrubbed up only to then find out that the sole of the plane was badly out of true, including the critical area just in front of the throat opening. This will take more than a session on coarse sand paper to fix- more like a vigorous (and exhausting) filing party. The chip breaker was filed to the wrong angle, and necessitated refiling and polishing to pull shavings. Everything else in the kit was usable once cleaned of the grease coat, and the block plane is wonderful-my new favorite tool (after honing and adjusting of course). There was a green discoloration on the rosewood tools from the brass inlays, annoying but not a problem. Overall, I would only recommend this kit to someone with a lot of spare time tune and repair the tools, but for the money, what else would you expect?

My square was not square, 1/8" out of square. I have to check it every time before I use it. The planes are nice however.

Perfect to begin. Needs a bit of adjustment to be a pro tool, but you get a nice bundle for the price.

The tools as well as the toolbox were in such poor quality, that some couldn't be assembled properly and others were starting to fall apart already, making them useless for enjoyable, accurate work.Don't waste your money on this. It'll make you loose your joy in wood-working.You would be constantly fighting with these tools to get them to do what you want.Aside from that they are not going to last long due to general poor manufacturing, materials and assembly.I got mine when it was on sale for appr $80 and I still returned it, because they aren't worth it. These are the kind of tools, that will leave you wanting better equipment and then will never be used again.Like I said, a waste of your hard earned money.
