The geometry makes a cut less aggressive and therefore safer. When one side of the cutter gets dull, simply turn it to a new side and continue turning. When all sides are used, you just replace the cutter.

Negative Rake Carbide Cutter
- Negative Rake Carbide Cutters virtually eliminate chipping and catches when turning resins, acrylic, and other man-made materials.

- Rake is the angle of a tool relative to its cutting surface, and most turning tools have a zero (or neutral) rake. These tips have a negative rake, so the face of the cutting tool slopes away from the cutting edge.

- When the tool becomes dull, simply rotate the replaceable nano carbide cutter to expose a fresh cutting edge, which can reduce time and cost.

I use these for turning resin and wood vases and goblets and tankards. They are perfect for this application. Just rotate the blade after it starts to dull and you get four sides out of each one, so the value is fantastic.

I love these negative rake carbide inserts. They don't "catch" the wood like straight carbide inserts do. They cut better and leave a better finish. I highly recommend these inserts.

Beware: the hole for the screw is under sized. I had to file the threads down slightly so they would fit through the hole and still have enough thread to gold. The square ones seem to fit perfect.

These turning cutter are very impressive, very sharp last well. I find them perfect for pen making, cutting wood and acrylic with the same precision.Warning never use your fingers to wipe off dust and turning debris, use a brush or cloth they are extremely sharp I’m talking from experience.Great value for the money. I would recommend these especially for pen making.

Hubby is very pleased with these and it makes his life so much easier working with resin. It does not make as much as a mess like regular one for wood.
