Any older electronics that use a DB9 interface require a cable like this. Normally once you get the cable you have to hunt on the internet for the correct driver.This product came complete with a drivers dvd that covered drivers from windows 2000 to present. I was completely impressed. The DVD also include instruction manuals for every driver. EXCELLENT.My customer was so impressed they asked for the product specs so they could purchase some as well.10/10 rating from me.

I had a radio with a male Rs232 port and needed to connect a cable with a male RS232 connector. The coupler worked fine.

I used this adapter to connect a usb to serial RS-232 cable from my laptop to an old machine which I needed to communicate with. I found out that I ended up with a male connector on each side, so I purchased this gender changer. It fits perfectly well and holds the cables in place. Good product.

I understand why the screw sockets (can't think of what they are more properly called) are there, but for my purpose, I just wanted them gone. Unfortunately, they are important for the physical integrity of the device. If you have this concern too, you may wish to find another device. Otherwise, these work as expected.

This is a simple cost effective solution. I am using this with a ham radio (Kenwood TS-2000.) Needed to adapt a standard USB to serial adapters gender to work. This dose the trick.

The DB9 connector is a thing of the past, not even included on the modern day motherboard anymore. The problem is that even though DB9 connectors aren't included anymore the appliances made with them are still around and functional. Whether your wrenching on a old Cisco router or a SonicWall firewall you will need a DB9 connector and/or a DB9 connector and a gender changer. Good little tool for the tool box.

These will work , but are cheaply made. They got me by in a pinch. I ended up ordering higher quality ones elsewhere .

It Works great,it is hard to believe that anyone would need one of these in this day and time. Still, I have an amateur radio that requires a COM port connection. I had a Serial cable, but the genders would not match. Thus, the need for this little adapter.
