EXACT replacement for my GE GFE28 Fresh Food (FF) fan. It's a fast replacement, only 9 screws to get the old one out. Built-in diagnostics in the refrigerator confirmed that the old one wasn't turning.

While visiting my sister I noticed her French-door GE refrigerator was not cooling the upper refrigerated section properly. I suspected that it could be an auto-defrost failure but when I checked online I found that it is a common problom for the upper evaporator circulation fan to fail. I ran the diagnostic test #47 for this model which tests that fan and sure enough I wasn't getting any air moving and I could not hear the fan running. I ordered this fan to repair. Long story short, it turned out that the 12v dc motor was hanging up and not turning. When I removed the old one I found a "flat spot" where the fan would hang up. I replaced the old one with this item and it cured the issue. I have seen several videos regarding how the fan mounts in the back of the refrigerator, yet this one was still a bit different. On her unit the fan is held in place via a butyl rubber gasket that has elastic " points" that have to be pulled through the mounting holes in the fan. Luckily the rubber was supple enough to be removed from the old fan and mated to the new one. The harness and plug on this fan fit perfectly and all went back together without a hitch. Her machine is running fine now and she saved a great deal of money over buyiing an OEM GE motor.

We have a newer frig and it wasn't cooling. Still running but not cooling well. Husband watch a couple YouTube videos, ordered this part and frig is cooling perfectly again.Fairly easy installation.

Works exactly as expected and a much cheaper option than OEM. Hopefully it will last a long time.
