I bought these Vilstomes wrought iron balusters for a stairs renovation project. The balusters will be installed soon and I can't wait to see the new stairs. Upon opening the box, I can tell that these balusters are quality. They are heavy and the finish is flawless. The design is contemporary and elegant.

I was surprised how light the box of ten balusters was when they arrived. I was also surprised how sturdy they are. Being hollow does not seem to make much difference in their rigidity. I like the design both in appearance and function. I'm not too confident about the weathering claims on the web site. Although the coating is good with no obvious blemishes, our south Louisiana humidity is not friendly toward iron, even when it's powder coated. I plan on installing these on the decking at the side of the house to see how well they hold up in the weather. If they do better than expected, I'll use them on my large 16' X 48' deck on the rear of the house. These would work great inside the house as well.

...a visual weight to make people aware that there is an edge to your deck. They are simple, quite sturdy and don't block the view.

Overall, we are pleased with these balusters. We have the mounted on a second-floor railing spaced 1.5' apart and they look great. I think these are perfect for indoor use, but I do not think they will last too long outside. The issue is the welds, they are not completely welded around the mating edges which will allow water inside. I can recommend these for indoor use. 5 STARS
