In the past, cymbals designated as "entry level" have been made of low-cost alloy manufactured in sheets, and they were cut from these sheets and shaped on machine presses. The resulting cymbals were, in fact, low in price. But they were also little more than serviceable targets for practice purposes. They simply had nothing to offer in ...the way of sound. That's all changed with the introduction of the new 457 series by Wuhan. These entry-level cymbals offer great looks, low price...and exceptional sound quality. The new 457 cymbals were created by drummer/designers in the U.S., and are hand-made to their exacting specifications by skilled craftsmen in China. They feature an alloy of 92% copper and 8% tin, which provides dramatically superior sound and durability compared to other entry-level cymbals made of cheaper alloys. In addition, where other "sheet cymbals" are machine-stamped into shape, 457 cymbals are hand-hammered to give them a great sound for the entry-level player. I was really surprised by the quality of these cymbals. Although I am not a real drummer (I'm a guitar player that owns a set of drums), my friend who has been playing drums longer than I've been alive, was impressed enough by mine to order his own set. I highly recommend.

So first off, the crash is bad. getting that replaced immediately. having said that, the ride and hats are actually not bad. I was pleasantly surprised with the ride and im actually not using the top hihat but the bottom sounds good with the zildjian top hat I have. The durability is what youd expect at this price point, hasn't cracked yet but I can see visible bending and wear already after 1 practice (im a pretty hard hitter though). I would say its acceptable for practicing purposes(which is all I need it for right now), but only the ride might be usable in a live setting.

Thought I'd give them a go for my second kit, you get what you pay for. Hihats will do just fine for an X-Hat and the ride probably crashes better than rides. They're definitely kiddie class cymbals.

these won't give you the same sound as the more expensive bronze cymbals, but they are perfect for a beginner, and they are definitely a step up from started cymbals that usually come with cheap kits

Having spent time with Zildjians, Meinl and Sabians of various calibers, you do get what you pay for often. I had these ordered for a local community center I teach at. As far as these cymbals go, the hi hat and crash are nice and easily hang with cymbals 2-3 times the price. The ride is less thrilling but definitely usable. A good ride cymbal seems harder to make happen at a low $ level. Worth spending for one you are happy with. Until then, this pack of starter cymbals will do you well.

Perfectly fine for child beginners, but you get what you pay for. Sabian B8's or Ziljian ZBT are other popular entry level cymbals that will sound substantially better, but the price reflects that too.
