I ordered this item to use on work trips as I am often out of the country and not all hotels have irons in the room or i didn't bring my travel size starch to properly prep my shirt collars (the drama of it all...) the metal stays are nicely packaged, have a fine fish design, polished finish and the magnets worked well. They were strong enough to hold all day during a trade show and were easy to move up or down when inside the collar, thus allowing you control of how your collar flairs out or is tight at the bottom.I wish the button magnets were white and not brown. i was asked a few times "what's inside your shirt?" when people noticed the brown button. On the upside, I then showed them the sushi stays and got to practice pulling them out and putting them back in!

I bought these as a gift for a friend and he loves them. Note they won't set off the metal detector at the airport--an important feature...

Magnets. Steel. Makes your collar STIFF. The only gripe I have is that the fish ends may dig into your collar bend, possibly tearing it if it gets to that point. Also, Amazon packaging was pretty crushed but nothing bent or broke. Lovely.
