This is a “universal kit” because it can accommodate both large and small bore sizes of hydroboost units. The pushrods came in many different lengths depending on make/model, so they intentionally made it long so you trim it to your needed length. On my OBS Ford I needed to trim it so I had a hair less than 1” sticking out of the hydroboost unit. Chevy applications will be much shorter. I used a hacksaw and a file, and had no trouble dialing it in. Don’t forget to round the end of the rod after you cut, and DO NOT cut the grooved end of the rod.

This rod is exactly what I need as mine was rusted away inside the hydroboost unit.Buying this means you have to cut it to length to fit your unit - this is NOT an exact replacement for any hydroboost unit as they are all different at that point.How to measure and cut it you can find by googeling it.Don't buy it and complain afterwards here in the reviews that it is to long for your unit.

The rod didn't fit its too long so not universal.
