Brass is the way to go with filter adapters. This supported an anamorphic adapter (700g) without any support, and didn't have any trouble. I don't recommend ever doing that, but definitely speaks to the quality of the adapter. The threading is well machined, and the quality is great in comparison to the aluminum ones.

If you need to use step-up rings, stick with brass. These are the most-cost effective brass step-up rings, as many are twice the price of these. Have ordered various sizes and will continue to do so when needed. I do have various aluminum alloy step-up and step-down rings, but those are specifically for short-term use.

I liked the fact that it fit my lens and was able to adapt it to fit my matte box. It is well made and the thread is exact. If it had thread to install an nd or cpl filter it would stand out as a 15 star product but still in all i give it a ten.
