I purchased this kit because I have a large assortment of drill bits and a full set of tap and die. BUT the tap sizes used to tap the hole after you have drilled it out are NOT standard sizes. They use abnormal size pitch count to keep the threads different from that of the new threads you will be installing so that the new threads don't rotate with the bolts. After getting 2 new thread inserts stuck in improperly tapped holes, I discovered why. I ended up purchasing an entire kit that had drill bits, taps, threads, and installation tools. So unless you already have a correct set of M4, M5, M6, M8, etc. taps, you will need a kit. This is for someone who has a kit but used up all of the thread inserts.

Amazing. Simply amazing. As a hobby I repair items that are smashed badly with fiber resin and epoxy. Many missing the screw wells along with the threads. Those are life savers. They fit securely and work great.

I have been using for automotive repair. Works well but you need to make sure to get the insert all the way in. I did an oil pan, and it leaked because I did not sink the insert in deep enough. I broke off a 6 mm bolt and had to drill it back out. It was doable but not fun. Fortunately, it came out fine and did not require a step up in size. I just re-tapped the hole and put in another. Pull out force is very high. I recommend a suitable gasket compound for oil pans, etc...;.

The coils are as magnetic as a regular steel. Nowhere on the package the steel is called stainless. Only the Amazon description states this.

An sich ok aber: kein standard Außengewinde. Leider ist dies nicht in der Beschreibung enthalten gewesen und sollte vom Verkäufer zukünftig unbedingt explizit erwähnt werden! Ohne speziellen Gewindebohrer weitgehend nutzlos.
