The patented Colby Valves are tire valves made to install from the outside of the wheel, without any tire removal. Have a broken valve stem? Replace it in less than 5 minutes with our valves.
Our XL Valve is 5/8" sized for larger wheels and tires. These fit tractors, backhoes, skid steers, hay balers, heavy duty trucks, etc. They can be installed anywhere, from the outside of the wheel, without tire removal, in 5 minutes or less. You will need to tighten the XL Valve down with a 9/16" socket or a wrench. They are custom machined from 360 brass bar stock to our specifications. This results in a valve that is 20X stronger than standard valves. They aren't indestructible, but they will take one heck of a beating.

The custom valve stems and permanent spacers are machined outside of St. Louis, Missouri; the winged spacers and seals are injection molded in Northwest Arkansas; and the final assembly of the patented tire valves and kits takes place in Rogers, Arkansas

I ordered the smaller valves without realizing my tire had a larger hole. The smaller valve could slide right in, past the lovely machined brass device. I modified it and got it to seal, but this involved lots of work and rough handling. No worries, their rubber and brass held up to whatever I threw at it. I was able to seal with the wrong size valve, but I'm not confident it will hold long so I ordered this one to replace it. These valves are REAL easy to install and the WORk. Also, I'm an Engineer so I love just looking at them. They are solid brass, look hand made, and have the overall feel of quality. If Rolls Royce made valve stems, these would be the one.

These things are an absolute must for roadside emergencies. It seems that a large percentage of my flat tires are caused by cheap junk valve stems. Thes things make replacing a valve stem a very simple matter. Cut the cheap rubber valve stem off and install one of these then add air. It takes a lot longer to air the tire up than it does to replace the valve stem.

These are great for in the field fix . I tore a stem and ordered this to keep from taking tractor wheel off . I installed per directions and it worked great and saved me a day of running around town . I now have one in every tractor and my personal cars . 5 min fix

My rear tractor tire valve caught a big branch and tore my brass tire valve off at the nut.I bought this part and in 30 minutes I had the tractor aired up and moving. Removing the old retaining nut took most of the time.Putting this device into valve hole was fast and simple.I was faced with removing a large kubota tractor tire and taking it 30 miles for a repair of $100 plus parts.Thanks to the manufacturer for saving me a lot of time and money. Knocked valve stem from 4wd backhoe front wheel. It costs $40 to dismount/mount tire in town. Since it was full of fluid, that would be an additional deal breaker since it would weigh 300lbs give or take. Had trouble unscrewing old stem base. A firm tap with sharp chisel snapped brass nut in two. After that it was easy. Insert in stem hole...tighten until just snug...air. Luckily, I lost only small amount of fluid and parked with hole at top of wheel. Would buy again to save such a big job and I have a tire changer.

Tend not to do reviews. This was a savour. I have an old skid steer that has heavily worn tires and rims with lip damage. I found one tire was flat, when I went to fill it, I found the rubber stem was cracked and leaking. Thus leaving me no other choice but to buy a full set of mounted tires. I tired a standard rubber stem, which was too small and did not seal. Then I found this, it was a very quick install and it worked. Now able to clear my driveway again.

Absolutely a great piece of kit to have in the shop if your an active shop person or any other purposes. A great idea saving you down time by being able to change out that broken valve stem out in the field or just at your shop. Tires are a pain to deal with at the best of times and tire shops are getting more and more expensive. I broke a good handful of valve stems from trailers to machinery and was able to fix them right where i was. The only down fall is that they are only a certain size -meaning when you buy a pack of them, your equipent or vehicles may have different size valve stem holes...if the hole is to big, then your hooped, if it's to small, I have taken the grinder to shave the end of the replacement down some to fit and it worked out great! Highly recommend this product...it's invaluable!!

It is very well made. The valve stem hole must be the exact size or it doesn't collapse enough. If the rim is thin; this prevents the device from tightening enough.
