We have a few rooms with extended height ceilings, so the remote provides an excellent means of turning them off when they trigger.Overall this brand has been excellent.

Works great to silent my smoke alarm.

This does not set up as simply or as easily as the water sensors because it appears to not connect to the hub. Apparently you link it directly to the smoke alarms or multiple alarms in a group. I think X-Series could improve the setup experience by allowing the remote to be linked to the hub first and then linked to one or many of the smoke alarms via the application UI. I think it is a useful accessory and I would recommend it if you have the smoke or CO2 alarms. It should also link to the leak sensors so you can test and control them with one remote.

I have seven X-Sense RF connected detectors, some of which are in locations that are not easily accessible from the ground. One is in my attic and another is high in the garage above my gas water heater. The detectors are 10-year life battery type. This X-Sense remote mounted on my kitchen wall allows me to test all my X-Sense detectors at one time and also reset any false alarms without getting out a step stool or ladder. I like the fact that if an alarm should occur then just one push silences all the alarms except the one detector that initiated the alarm. A second push of the button silences all. This allows for easy location of that detector where the smoke or CO was detected.

These smoke detectors are easy to put up and easy to connect together. They seem well made. I was very impressed. I had a question for the manufacturers and they answered very quickly. I have linked together 6 smoke detectors, 3 CO2/Smoke combination units and a heat detector is on it's way to me which will also connect to them. So if one unit detects smoke they will all go off together. We also got the remote button so that if they do go off we press that and only the one that detected the smoke keeps going off. What more could you want?

I wanted to give this zero stars... I have 2 remotes for my system and neither work. I have had these for several months. The alarms have gone off twice but it due to cooking smoke. All alarms activate as they are supposed but we couldn't shut them off by using the remote. This was the other reason these were purchased -in order to use the remote deactivate during these false alarms.I have contacted the company about this and they are willing to send new ones but both of the ones I have are new and neither work (neither shut off alarms once activated). I assume it is either a design failure or a mislabeled product (good only for testing-not deactivating).

One press silences all 12 of my detectors, but the offender. Two presses silences ALL. Three presses alarms them all.

The remote itself appears to work fine but the X-Sense system in general has rather poorly organized documentation (not to mention printed on tiny sheets of paper) and the whole system well thought out system design. For example, when purchasing, it's not clear at all if it is usable with both X-Sense Link and Wireless (requires using the app and a base system). I'm waiting for response from support (who has been responsive but they are out for Chinese New Year).So...it *is* looking like you can ONLY use this with detectors in the Link mode and if you want to use the app and get push notifications you cannot use the remote. This is unfortunate. I like the app and also like how it can send me notifications if I am out of the house or traveling. Link will not do that. I really wanted the remote for use by other members of the family who don't have and don't want the app or if we have someone from outside the family staying here. The remote would've been perfect for them to be able to silence false alarms (some of our alarms on very high raised ceilings. But.... it appears I can't use it unless I forego the use of the app and the advantages it gives.A better thought out design would allow flexibility and not limit which mode you could use which device in. I would have liked to be be able to use the remote in either mode. We don't always have a phone tied to our hips. .....and the documentation makes it worse. There's info there but it's scattered among documentation of various devices and not well organized as to the possible configurations you might consider for various components. It's like the two systems (Link and Wireless) were thought up separately and the two teams never talked to each other. This system has great features but they just need to tie it all together and make it work better. I like how I can get smoke alarms from our detached garage/shop whereas before I wouldn't know of a problem until it was too late or if I was out there. Our house is older so there was no wired smoke alarm system that tied all together. I now have that. I hope they fix these issues.

there is not much to it, it's a simple remote and it works perfectly as it should, it will save you the trouble of getting a ladder to reach your alarms. it's great.
