I have a very old drill press without a crank to adjust the height of the table. I have seen a lot of different designs to add adjustability but some of them are a little strange. I use this bottle jack to adjust the height just fine. I place it under the table as close as possible to the shaft and make sure the clamp is very loose on the shaft. To lower the table I relieve the pressure in the jack, and just press down on the top of the table.Easy solution.

Junk, they are okay for a while. Then they start leaking and making a mess. They are cheap Chinese junk that is a waste of time and money.My old Craftsman 20 ton from the 90's still works and never leaks.

Paint chips off really easily, but using 3 of these and some 1/4 steel plate I was able to jack the entire back end of our two story hose to level it off and replace the foundation pillars. Why pay more?
