Professor of French Horn here. I am a huge fan of this mouthpiece and Yamaha products- currently play a YFH 867. I recommend this particular mouthpiece to almost all of my students for it’s clear tone, ease in the upper register and overall performance in all ranges. The price is great compared to other makes/models out there, low enough to have a back up (highly recommend). Always consult your instructor before switching equipment... but it’s hard to go wrong with this mouthpiece.

my teacher made me get this mouthpiece and I am not a fan mostly due to a very bright tone. Great for technical playing but is a very small mouthpiece.
