This is the best electric violin in budget. Electric violin shop had it tuned and checked it so it was ready to play. They even set a personalized hand written note which was so nice of them. I would love to buy from them in future. The violin itself is amazing and has a great sound(given u get a good acoustic amplifier). Very satisfied with my buy.

Wanted a quiet violin/fiddle. Was wearing an earplug to save the hearing in my left ear. This is great. It feels good, plays easily, and sounds great. I usually play it without an smplifier.Added a Roland Cube GX amplifier for when I want volume. Tune that for a warmer sound and love it. The amp is further from my ears and the volume is easy to control to avoid hearing damage.Use a $300 wooden bow.

The violin itself is amazing. It has a great sound and is way to play. I am very disappointed though because the chinrest has cracked on the very first playing opportunity less than a week after it arrived. This should not have happened and reflects poorly on the violin, the seller and amazon. Someone needs to make this right.

I have several other Yamaha instruments: pianos, guitars, saxophone, and drum. Always reliable to start off on something without much insights. This violin is no different. Sounds just like how I imagine a violin should sound…with an adjustable volume control and effects via amplifier. It is so light and versatile. Many YouTube videos have high reviews about this violin and I can feel it. If you started off with a mendini or cecilio like I did, this Yamaha YEV-104 violin is a highly recommended upgrade (if you still appreciate how violins should sound). And a good entry into amplified effects instrument.Purchased through the Electric Violin Shop with reputable backgrounds on YouTube and standard of services. highly recommend!
