I purchased this kit in January 2020 (discounted at the time $260.59) after giving away my drums several years ago, having switched careers and not having played professionally since 2000. I never was particularly successful in getting my kits tuned up and sounding very good. I had played many different kits years, especially when traveling, and I always appreciated a well-tuned kit.I did a small amount of online advice gathering on basic tuning methods, as I wanted to restart my playing with a decently well-tuned kit. I was very surprised at how great these sounded out of the box, especially the floor and rack toms. The floor and tom heads are the same, on the resonant and batter sides. I placed a over-stuffed memory foam-filled pillow in the kick drum for dampening, and I cut a 4 or 5 inch hole in the front head.To sum it up, this kit offers outstanding quality and value for what I paid. I would not have hesitated using this kit at any of the venues where I routinely worked. I could have have spend more for alternate "starter" kits available from other reputable brands, but I don't believe I would have gained any significant value, unless I spent upwards of $600 for other shell-pack kits.

The drums it's self were great quality! Only complaint would be that it doesn't come with the full set with simbles or even drum sticks!

I ordered the red but received black. This was a drunken midnight shopping purchase I tried canceling the next morning and it wouldn’t cancel said it already shipped. I decided to keep it because it’s a big pain to return these heavy instruments. I had to make additional purchases like kick pedal. Snare stand, seat and, cymbals to actually play it. Sounds very nice once tuned properly.
