Do not underestimate how powerful this little thing is, for an electric log splitter of this size the performance is pretty impressive. Elm logs 16†in diameter and 8†in length split pretty easily, 8†in diameter and 16†in length even easier. I’m 63 years old and I can barely swing a golf club, I definitely can’t swing an axe, this splitter is making my life a lot easier. I also had a couple of old pieces of eucalyptus that have been curing for about 15 years that were just too tough to split with an axe when I was younger but they took this beast no time to split. The only reason I didn’t give this five stars is something has to be really exceptional to get five stars from me, but I had to argue with myself a little bit about that.

So you can control the log with one hand and push the lever with the other.It also LOOKS good. Kudos...

I have no idea if this log splitter works well or not because it arrived broken. Now, as you can see in the pictures, the cast iron piece of the motor that connects it to the frame was completely cracked. I have no idea how this can happen; I would assume it requires a major force to achieve this. The item was also leaking oil. Consequently, the machine was a dysfunctional piece of junk. Very disappointing -- I returned it at no cost (not an easy procedure!) and got a refund.

Split 3 cords of green fir with this. I mounted it on a locking wheel dolly that elevated it about 12". I split rounds up to 14" in diameter. Any knots went toward the splitting wedge. Could not be happier unless the split wood stacked itself!! High quality product.

This log splitter replaces a manual hand pump log splitter I had. It is 100x faster than my manual one! I usually run it off a generator since I am far from the house outlets. Most of the split wood is spruce, pine, and sometimes aspen. Nothing too hard. Some of the wood is very dry deadfall and has no issues.A bit bigger wheels would be nice so that it rolls over rough ground easier. I may be able to add those myself, though.
