If you actually know anything about drinking Mate, they are supposed to be made out of wood and not metal as this one is. Easier to clean? Absolutely, enhanced flavor? No way… Mates are better when they are made out of wood or any porous material.

This is a smaller mate cup, more Argentina size than Uruguay size. It has a bombilla appropriately sized to the cup, that is of decent quality and should hold up well.The cup is pure metal, with a simulated wood (gord?) pattern that I wish were just another color than trying to make this look more realistic. We know it is metal, go with the metal look and feel!The cup is fine, but didn't knock my socks off. I'll use it until I get another real one, and it is probably a great cup to use when on the go so I don't have to maintain a real gord when out and about or travelling.
