It's not flimsy or cheaply made. It serves its purpose.I really just wanted to note that the odor coming from the handle isn't *quite* as bad as I've heard others suggest. It is surely very strong at first, but it dissipates over time and it only lingers permanently on the packaging it came in and really close to the dumbbell itself. It isn't some kind of overpowering stench that ruins your room forever.This is a fine product.

These were inexpensive and arrived quickly, but I do NOT recommend purchasing this product. These dumbbells have a fierce stink to them. And by that, I mean they smell like burnt rubber. I unboxed them 9 days ago, and noticed the smell immediately. I was hoping it would dissipate, but even after wiping them down with a disinfectant cleaner and leaving them in front of an open window, I can still smell this noxious odor from ten feet (and more) away. It's so bad it's actually irritating the back of my throat. They were poorly packaged and the cheap, flimsy boxes they were shipped in arrived damaged, so they'd be too much hassle to return. They'll be banished to the basement, or outdoors. Please consider another manufacturer.

The weights and my intentions to use them are both excellent, however my execution of the usage part is still lacking. Too bad they dont make you stronger by just sitting in the closet, I'd be half way to buff by now! These are really nice,exactly as they look.

At 70, twenty pounds on one arm is a bit of a challenge. My logic was -and continues to be- that I'll work into it. Hint: keep it handy and in frequent view for whatever composes your regular day to enlist the "nag" effect which enhances regular use. No pain no gain!

On its first use, in the decline position with 142# on the bar, the locking pin ripped the pillar metal down to the next hole. Luckily it was on a smith machine with safety racks, otherwise I would have been in serious trouble.

These are very nicely made dumbells. I only have two issues with them. 1) They definitely do smell at first. I've been leaving mine outside in the sun daily to hopefully make the odor disappear. 2) They do NOT weight 20 pounds as advertised. Weighing mine on a highly accurate digital scale they come in at 19.4 pounds. It's not worth the hassle to send them back, but it is disappointing not to get exactly what you paid for.
