The sound was very good. The rosewood is very nicely done. The keys are weighty and didn't require any adjustment. This instrument is for someone who wants a nice Clarinet, but is not willing to pay thousands for a really good one. The only problem I encountered was the left hand thumb "F" key protruded into the bore. It affected the sound, and it was impossible to clean. Amazon and Yifente responded immediately to my complaint and replaced it without any question.

I don't think you can beat this at this price-point. The rosewood grain is absolutely beautiful and, getting away from the furniture aspect, the clarinet as a whole looks very nice. Packing for shipping was excellent. Out of the box I found no leaks and all keys worked well.I had read several reviews before buying and several mentioned the throat A key being a bit too far from the top hole. They must have corrected that problem because mine is as close as you can get without touching the ring around the top hole. I do have a problem with the placement (too low) of the alternate C/lowF key making it a bit of a stretch for the LH little pinkie finger. The stock mouthpiece works reasonably well but most people will buy a better mouthpiece as I did. With the new mouthpiece, the tone is quite good and intonation is acceptable. Some of the reviews mentioned the cheap metal in the keys - it's a cheap clarinet! I would expect that - as long as it holds up to reasonable handling. My experience so far makes me believe it will do that. You can get an Eb that has a better tone and better intonation, but a Selmer Paris or Buffet Crampon is going to cost you at least 10x as much as this one. I'm not playing in a professional symphonic orchestra where the difference would be apparent. It is more than adequate for my needs.

Not even made of wood. It’s plastic.

I have been playing clarinet for about 18 years now. This is an OK instrument. It has some tuning issues where some of the notes are very sharp. Over the years I have picked up several tips and tricks and I was able to fix many of these tuning problems myself. There were also several issues with corks falling off or missing corks. Again I was able to fix these issues myself. But for someone not comfortable making repairs to your own clarinet, that would mean a trip to the repair shop and that will cost some extra money. This instrument came with a mouth piece, ligature, reed and cork grease that I immediately put in the trash so I can’t review the quality. But from previous experience I can offer an educated guess that those were garbage. I used my Vandoren Eb mouthpiece, Vandoren reeds and a Rovner ligature.I do like that the instrument comes with two barrels to help with tunning. If you are looking to just dabble with playing Eb clarinet this might be the instrument for you. If you are looking to play this in a community band or orchestra it might need some extra work and lots of practice to get it into a decent playing shape.

I haven't played clarinet in thirty years, but for reasons that may be attributed solely to insanity I decided to relearn the instrument, but this time on the E-flat. My one actual clarinet playing friend thinks this is insane. But I am loving this little instrument. It feels great in my hands and is increasingly sounding good (though I started out sounding like a wounded heron, admittedly. Improving quickly, for which my Covid-locked-down household is grateful.) Its a pretty little instrument, and a real delight to play. Two caveats... one is the cleaning kit that comes with it is a clarinet standard and is too large for the e-flat. I ordered a flute cleaning kit, and am hopeful that will solve it. The third hole gets really spitty after about half an hour. I don't know if that's an e-flat thing or a this instrument thing or just a me thing. But without a good swab, there's nothing to be done for it, right now.And straight out of the box, the horn was playing insanely flat. The tuner would register it a full step lower than I was playing. It gets a little better as the clarinet warms up, but it takes a long time to get to that point. I bought a box of higher quality reeds, and the improvement was immediate, right on pitch. Splurge on the reeds and cleaning kit on day one and save yourself the wait for the extra items. So 2021, year of the clarinet, here we come!

Bought this because I had to try it and see if it was any good. Can't say I was surprised, pleasantly or otherwise. Throw away the mouthpiece, ligature and all the other extras that came with it (the "reed" included in the case looks like a piece of scrap wood). The clarinet sounds...okay with a decent mouthpiece (I used a vandoren B44). The pads are terrible and will need to be replaced right away, and the key work is not well-adjusted or aligned. I had to carefully bend the B/E and the F#/b sliver keys out of the box so that they wouldn't scrape against the adjacent keys. Corks on the tenons are poorly done, not wide enough and sanded unevenly for a lumpy finish. The key chimneys are just plastic, and the springs are not good quality. I'm planning on putting in a lot of work on this horn to see how well I can get it to play, but if you don't do your own repair work, don't bother. Straight out of the box, this horn is poorly adjusted and nearly unplayable. It will cost you nearly the price of the horn just to get the work done to bring it up to snuff. The rosewood and silver plate looks really slick though, but if you're gonna repad use a low temp shellac because the silver tarnishes with only a little heat and the keys are the kind of metal that will burn your fingers quicker than most quality keyword. Will come back and update once I've given it an overhaul, but as of now, save your money and get a used Eb. It will be better quality.
