The simulated wood veneer actually looks really good as there is some woodgrain texture there. And it’s very easy to assemble.In my image there are 63 records in there, and I wouldn’t put any more than that because it would make it too hard to flip through. Yeah, 80+ if it is positively stuffed, but that’s not practical.

False Advertising. One of the most critical points in choosing any product for storage is the measurements or dimensions of the item. In the case with this product, it claims that the height is 14.17". WRONG! a standard album cover is only 12 1/4" tall. If the crate really was 14.17" tall, the records would not stick out above the crate as shown in the photo. How this item is claimed to be Amazon's choice is beyond me. Perhaps I was sent the wrong item, but the dimensions don't add up correctly. From the floor of the crate to the top rim of the crate measures only 9 3/4", nearly half a foot short from the advertising claim. I took away 2 stars for inaccurate dimensions. For some unknown reason, China seems to favor the less user friendly standard flat head or Phillips head screws and use screws requiring a hex key. Be prepared to get sore fingers 24 times, as that is how many times you will have to use the tiny useless wrench for the fasteners. That took away another star. The screw in feet were a nice addition, but upon inspection, they are only plastic and not rubber or nylon. My last complaint is having to spend an hour cleaning the extremely sticky gum from the part labels. Most put together products, the labels very easily just peel off. The stickers on my product were like gorilla glued to the fake wood slats. I eventually reached for my WD40 to remove the stubborn glue. One of the metal frames in one of the two sets I purchased had a dent in it. I just have to ignore it as the crate will still go together. Due to the time necessary to complete the assembly of the product and the apparent lack of quality control, I cannot recommend this product therefore giving it only 1 star. The assembled unit is sturdy, but with the bottom having only two screws per side, only time will tell with the crate full if the bottom will remain in tact, or fall through.

It was really hard to put together, the "screws" with the weird head that only the L-shaped wrench, for lack of a better term were ridiculously hard to screw in all the way; I finally threw all of them away and used my own screws with an electric screwdriver, which made the assembly process a lot easier. Overall, it holds albums, but there's nothing special about it. With considerable effort, I made it work, but I can't recommend it in any way.
