As a disclaimer, this is my first time trying anything like this, so my opinion might be skewed, but I do still really love this set!Everything works great and it’s very simple to use / set up / clean up. I got a separate stamp set I liked a lot and combined with these wax beads + heater, I’ve been having a lot of fun. The spoon + little heater work great (and are so cute!). The wax beads are also good— they do have a slight synthetic smell when burned, but it’s not too strong / bad, imo; they’re true to their colour; you need ~3-4 per stamp; they re-melt easily.The markers that came with it are also great! They’re very moist + vibrant, and they add a nice extra pop when you want that. The little tea candles are standard / pretty long-lasting— I practiced for 1.5-2 hrs, blowing the candle out when I could, and I still haven’t fully used one up yet.Overall, I think this is a great starter set! You do need to get your own stamps but that was preferable for me since I wanted specific ones anyway. I love the colour variety of the beads. Everything works as it’s meant to. I’ve been having a lot of fun!**TIPS**•Using a tissue to clean the melted wax off the sides of the spoon right after you pour it will help prevent messes. Also, clean the soot / burnt areas off the bottom of the spoon between uses.•Practice on wax paper so you can easily peel the seals off + re-melt them! This way, you can practice to your heart’s content without actually using up / wasting your wax beads.•Look up guides + videos online! There are so many helpful resources out there; I learned a lot of little tips I hadn’t thought of myself this way.

A lot of wax to mix and match to have very cool designs. The wax is durable and seals the envelopes nicely. I've maybe had 3 out of 40 fall off during transit - (to be expected with postal service) Easy to use as it's straight and to the point. The construction is durable and is worth the money. As a tip, but proceed with caution âš ï¸... if you're trying to do multiple envelopes you'll need a bigger flame if you want to get things done faster. The candles given will get the job done but if you're trying to send off more than 15 I'd either get a better candle or toss a TINY piece of paper towel in the wax sticking up above the wax line. The stand will get hot too so don't touch it! Stay safe and have proper PPE/equipment to extinguish if need be.

First off, like others, the candles in the kit melted and leaked all over the place. I think ordering candles in the summer (it was late June that I got this) is just a bad idea, and the candles were in their own baggy, but when they melted the did leak on everything else. It wasn't too hard to clean up, and I'm actually a little glad it did because I was about to order some candlesticks and the reminder that this isn't a good idea right now saved me from a frustrating future order. The candles are just little white tea lights you can get anywhere, so they are easy to replace.The container with the wax beads was also mixed up like some other customers. That container just doesn't seal closed in a way that secures the compartments. I just gave it to my OCD daughter and she spent an hour happily sorting them and arranging them in exact little rows. If she hadn't been here, I would have sorted a few each time I used it until either it was done or I didn't care anymore. It's not a big deal to me. I will say after she sorted them I could tell that you don't get the exact same number of every color. I think the total was more than they state, but a couple of colors had less than 30, while most had more than 30.My biggest issue with this product, and why I dropped a star, is because I think these beads have a high polymer content in them. The seals won't break, they just bend, which means they tend to tear the paper they are stuck on when you try to open them. As someone who enjoys Regency era letter folds, this is a problem. I don't want my seal to tear up my letter when the receiver opens it. If you are sealing an envelope where it doesn't matter if it tears, or if you are using these in a decorative context such as on a certificate or something where it isn't sealing something shut, you will be fine. We used several seals with these wax beads and they all came out beautifully. Although I don't like all the colors (personal preference and to be expected with this many colors), they all seem to work well and blend nicely together if you like to do swirled colors. My daughter made seals for days and has a whole jar full of her favorites. The melter works well, and is relatively easy to clean if you have a napkin handy to wipe it out while it's still hot. If you need instructions on how to use this item, you can easily find something on youtube or the internet, it's pretty easy. Light candle, put spoon on holder, drop 4 wax beads in, let melt, pour on location for seal, put seal stamp (purchase separately) on top of wax and press slightly, wait a moment and remove. Hope that helps.

Nice set with lots of wax melt variety. It took a few times to get the hang of using the pot, but it is much better than the wicked wax sticks. Once the bowl gets hot, the wax melts quickly. The lipped bowl lets you pour it where you want it with little mess. I clean the bowl while it is still hot by wiping it out with a paper towel. It cleans up quick and easy that way. Be aware the metal legs on the holder do get hot. They didn't make burn marks on my table, but I started putting a potholder under it to be safe.
