I like the look of this bowl and stand but didn't realize it was so big when I ordered it. It holds 5 cups. I have a medium size dog and she was afraid of it and wouldn't drink from it. I have since bought a different elevated bowl which holds 3 cups and it is the perfect size and height for her. She likes it and used it immediately. This is a nice bowl and stand and I will give It to a friend who has a large dog.

Very easy to set up - simply clean the bowl, fill it with fresh water, and set it in the black iron stand. It looks gorgeous and works perfectly for my Min Pins. It's just barely short enough for them to drink out of. It's definitely a little taller than I'd expected, but it'd still usable. For reference, my dogs stand about a foot tall at the shoulders. I'd purchased this because my oldest dog was diagnosed with Arthritis and has a Grade 1 (almost Grade 2) luxating patella. The vet recommended elevated food and water bowls to make her life a bit easier. This is excellent quality. It's sturdy and extremely well made. I have no concerns that they'll knock it over. Just in case, however, I've set it up in a corner. The bowl is stainless steel. It's going to be super easy to keep clean. The coated metal stand should stay very nice looking for years to come. There are no rough or sharp edges. The bowl has a beautiful design around the bottom inside. My ONLY complaint - and it's a VERY minor one - is that the sticker on the inside of the bowl is a PAIN to remove. I can't use Goo Gone because I obviously don't want chemicals getting into my dogs' water. It took quite a bit of effort to get rid of the sticker and the residue it left behind. Honestly? In the whole scheme of things, that's not a huge deal. I did feel it was worth mentioning though.

I have had 3 of these for years and recently bought another for the new dog. They are nice and simple, and tall enough to be comfortable for my 3 large dogs that are about 60lbs each. They also have the biggest bowls that I've seen come with any set, and I do not have any problems with the bowls moving around in the stand. The new one is slightly different from the older ones: it has a glossy coating on the wire parts, instead of the matte finish that makes the older ones look like wrought iron, and the bowl is of slightly lower quality in that it is thinner and has a slight difference in the finish and inside design, and it is a hair smaller than the others. Overall, it is still good quality and certainly works for all of us. Just a note of caution - If your dog wears a collar with tags dangling, it is possible they might catch on the stand and scare the ever-lovin' crap out of everyone around. It's only happened to us twice in about 5 years. Just an FYI for anyone with a weak heart and/or bladder.

These are really incredible food stations for dogs. Just high enough and good quality stainless steel bowls. Great quality for the price.

I have two older cats and wanted to get them more accessible dining. This was my first try at a designed raised dish; previously I had just been resting the bowls on upturned dishes, but I wanted something higher.5" is probably too high. The black cat has learned to sit at hers to get her head higher, and readily polishes off her food, but would probably find it easier if it were an inch lower. The tux just jammed her throat on the edge. That is, when she was willing to get near it. The loud clang of the very lightweight bowls frightened her so much she started running away from the stand, so I've gotten her a different model with a nice silent silicone base.Speaking of the bowls, I don't use them, nor the other brand extra pair I bought. Besides the loudness and flimsy lightness of them, the way they sit down inside the frame makes the cat have to crane down to get at the food. I rest their old rubber-bottomed shallow metal dishes on top instead. The frame itself is very well made, very attractive, and very sturdy. Though my husband's kicked it a few times when the shiny metal bowl wasn't inserted as the black frame visually blends into the brown runner rug we have it on.

This stand worked well with my pap pup that has long fur on ears and continually getting wet with larger bowls for water

We have gone through a lot of different food - water dishes for our cats and the search is over. Will keep this short and simple.-Easy to clean base and bowel dish.-Nice height for my two medium size cats. (Helps digestion and such.)-Best Feature is they are SEPERATE. If you are using a dish with one plastic base holding the bowls side by side, get ones that are separate! No more cloudy water or food getting into the water dish due to a sloppy cat or a cat who likes to play with his food.-Does not slide around or mark my hard wood floor.-Has yet to be knocked-spilled and the food-water stays in the dish.-Reasonable pricing for this type of product.Nothing I do not like yet to report. (After getting my first set, I ordered another for my downstairs.)As always, I will update this review should they develop issues with ongoing use.Small (6 x 6 x 5")

The stand would of been a 5 star review, however it was broken. I opened it out of the box, used it straight away. Then I noticed the broken leg. Obviously it was too late then to return it. So disappointed.

The frame is made of metal covered with hard plastic coating. Makes them easy to wipe down but strong. My dogs run around with the frame in her mouth and no damage at all. The bowls are big I feed my Bernards 8 cups of kibble plus extras from dinner and it all fits into the provided bowls. The bowls are also metal. Worth the money for cute raised dog dishes.
