I bought this for a 5 month old kitten. I wanted to train him to go outside without running away. It was a little big on him but I just kinda jimmy-rigged it and made it fit. It was really great. Having tried a bigger, vest type harness first, which totally scared him, the slimness of this one was much better. Now, cats aren't really meant to be on leashes, so I used this more as a training tool. But if you train a cat to only go outside of a harness and leash, they will only know that and get used to it. This could work for that, as I didn't feel my cat could slip out of it. As far as being used for a dog, which I personally didn't, but I can ascertain, it would work equally well, if not better. They are more structured to be on a leash. This would only be good of course for a small dog. It is little. For the price, I think this is a fabulous buy. It was around $5-$6 when I bought it. The pet store sells similar ones for ten times the price. Plus, the colors on this are so pretty. It's also made well. My kitten played with it like a toy and got his nails wrapped in it and it didn't shred. And a note on that, if you are using it for a cat, since the leash is slim, you can use it to play with the cat like a ribbon. It will make them more comfortable with it. Fortunately, my boy is able to go outside on his own now, but we will always look at this leash with found memories of training days.

Well I had to give it 5 stars because it’s not the products fault that Kelby hated me after this.She will not wear a collar so I thought I would try this. Went on quick and she couldn’t get out of it. (She can get out of a collar in under 5 minutes) However she wouldn’t move or eat... I wouldn’t say Kelby is the most affectionate cat and when she had this on she just laid on me like she was dying.Day two came and she was vigorously Chewing at it to get it off howling in between. A little over the top if you ask me! I finally gave in and removed the rainbow of death. She is back to normal activity now. Eating mouse hunting ignoring me......So in the end Kelby won again. Half of it has been eaten by her which is why I marked it down for sturdiness.

This was pretty good- our cat's definitely not the runt of his litter though, so it's a bit tight in the part around the front of his leg. We un- buckled the plastic buckle to make it a tiny bit looser, but that didn't help much. After a couple minutes of moodily putting up with us he tried to run top speed which made him flip up onto his hind legs while his front limbs flailed wildly- he covered like 15 feet of ground while doing this- good thing we got this harness, not a collar, or he would have choked! Might be a good idea to get a leash with a bit of stretch to it. We only used this once since we realized he's very careful outside and comes running back home when called. Now we swing the leash around for him to chase and when we're not doing that he carries it around the house like a trophy kill.

Very cute and amazing for the price. I have a small adult gray cat and a chubby black lop bunny: it's adjustable and not only does it fit both, the rainbow color looks so cute on them! ðŸ˜My cat is very curious and loves to play with the dogs. When we go in the backyard or for a walk, he stares from behind the window and starts complaining... I don't let my cat outdoor but he finally moved me to pity and decided to look for a harness and leash... Nowhe can hang out with us. It got some training but it worked!(My friends told me that the day I'll walk both dogs, the cat, and the bunny, they'll come to take pictures 😂 oh well, that means I'll have to but another one of those...).

Its pretty. But didnt work.My cat slipped right out of this. She has gone deaf and for whatever reason she likes to go by the road( we live on a dead end road in dense wooded area) or even go across onto the other side of the property. However we still have traffic. She does hear if cars are coming to get out of the way. So i bought this figuring i can keep her away from the road.well that didnt work out the way i had hoped. I had to add a modification with the harness and a collar as the front paws just slip in and snap the harness up by the shoulders. Shes thin enough to become houdini in 20 seconds.... And out of it ....

What I bought it for was the rainbow leash. Witch I do like! It is short though. But since this is for a cat (using different better harness) then a dog its alright. Definitely not good for a human standing and a small dog on the ground. But if you just need a hold on the dog (or cat) while carrying its alright. Go buy a real leash and harness for your pet!

I got this for my kitten, so I can travel with him without fear of him running out into traffic, or needing a carrier. He was mildly awkward with it at first but got used to it quickly. I visited a friend with him, and after putting the leash on a chair post, found the leash and harness empty 10 minutes later! It is as tight as I can make it without feeling it's digging into his meat. So it's great if you're close to safety, if your kitty knows the area and isn't skittish, or if you are close by. So for me, this is just security he won't run into traffic when I am carrying him from car to house in a neighborhood he doesn't know. I wouldn't take him to a local park for a walk in this.

The harness went on pretty easily. And while he tried dramatically to get it off, it stayed on. He tried to play on our sympathies by acting as if it was just. Too. Heavy. He did go out on the leash for a short time too. We are going slow, and easy.
