Yukon has a deserved reputation for quality. I've used these kits for years and always been satisfied. They come with all parts needed for a typical regear or rebuild of a differential. It would be nice if they included the better carrier shims they offer, which don't require you to try and beat a stack of thin shims into the rear when setting carrier bearing preload. The good shims have two thick outer shims that interlock with the thinner shims in between them, and work really well. I always buy them for any rear where the shims are outside the bearing races. A bit more marking compound would also be helpful, especially if you don't have a pinion depth tool and have to run the setup a bunch of times to find proper pinion depth. Finally, a bit better packaging would be nice. The bearings, etc. are almost always loose in the box when I get them because they are too heavy to be held in place by plastic over cardboard alone. Nothing is ever missing or damaged, so its a pretty minor concern, but these small inconveniences and issues are why I rate this at 4 stars instead of 5. Honestly, its better than any other kit like it you're going to buy. I'll add that setup bearings can be very helpful depending on how you are setting up the gears and what tools you have. I just get an extra set of cones and grind the ID out with a carbide cutter until they slip fit. This prevents you from damaging a bearing trying to remove it if the shim under it isn't right, as most pinion bearings are basically blind pressed. If they need to be removed typically I cut off the cage and slot the inner race before splitting it with a cold chisel. Just a couple tips for anyone doing this for the first time.

Highly recommend it for someone who need to fix the whole rear end or upgrade it, very smooth in high speed better than OEM.

Comes with 2 new Diff bearings and shims. It comes with both seals however they are the old bare metal style that leak (I bought the new rubber coated style from toyota for $10 and $19).The badDoes not come with the 2 needle bearings for the half shafts(axle) that get worn out alot or the passenger side bearing. There are 7 side (differential) shims evenly spaced from 0.105in to 0.129in however the stock shims are about 0.096in (probably 0.095in) and the new bearings are thicker by about 0.008. After installing and tightening I found that I needed smaller shims around 0.080in because the diff bearings are too tight. The kit is also missing new ring gear bolt safety plate(thing that prevents bolts from backing out).This kit is not worth it. The things I needed the most was the side shims and they are too thick and the needle bearings.

Great kit....But I ordered the wrong one.I identified the diff by the diff cover which looked like a Dana 30 but the internal components turned out to be Mitsubishi Pajero ..Never assume.

YK GM8.5-HD install kit for GM 8.5 carriers with the oversize bearings: Everything you need to assemble your new diff with Timken bearings, new bolts,etc. 7 pinion shims allows a wide variety of adjustments, 2 super carrier shims make install and adjustments easy. Locktite for bolts; pattern compound; pinion seal; 2 crush sleeves and gasket round it out. Overall great kit.

I Had to rebuild the rear axle in a 2018 Ram 1500 with a C235/9.25ZF axle. Every thing fit 100%. The side bearings look slightly different with a wider cage and longer needles than the original but overall dimensions are the same.

Buy a pinion nut from Ford. The included nut interferes with the drives shaft flange.
