i bought kit for my eight-year-old twin granddaughters. They enjoyed painting the pieces and putting together the projects, especially the Ferris wheel. Installing and wiring the motor was too difficult for them and required help from their thirteen-year-old sister. The pieces are flimsy, but they didn't break any. Overall, a good product for STEM kids at a reasonable price.

I purchased this kit for a student. It is just the right level of difficulty for a student who has some knowledge about woodworking and assembling. The one slightly difficult part of setting up the circuits. The wires are very thin and the connecting rings are very small. But then again… wouldn’t want it to be too easy for a 12 year old? These kids can also be painted . I wasn’t aware they actually ran on batteries. We are having a lot of fun with them. Great purchase. Better than described!

My daughter enjoyed putting the kits together. She is 10 years old and she was able to do it on her own with minimal supervision and assistance.

My 10 year old daughter requested this for Christmas. Out of the projects included, two of the sets didn’t include pieces shown in the instructions. She was able to make one work anyway, but the Ferris wheel was missing a crucial gear to make the wheel turn. Very frustrating for her. You might want glue to help keep them together- any wood glue would probably work, and make sure you stock up on AA batteries. I would not buy this kit again due to the frustration caused by the missing pieces, but she enjoyed the process, so we might look at a similar kit from a different seller.

I bought these to encourage creativity with my boys at home, ages 8 & 12 yrs old. My 12 yr old really enjoyed them, and they have stayed together well for a few months since building now. My 8 yr old needed help assembling them, but it was a positive challenge for him as well. Would definitely buy again.
