This worked really nicely for me. Using a 1 megaohm resistor I was able to turn it into a 0-50V meter with much lower current drain than the meters I had. I wish there was a template available for printing my own gauges, but that's asking a lot.

Measures accurately full scale 1 milliampere. The transparent cover can be removed so that you can add another scale, for instance RPM or humidity or whatever. The DC resistance of the meter is close to 160 ohms. It is a d' arsonval movement, appears to be well made. Good price. No polarity marks, looking at it from the back side, the left terminal is positive.

Found circuit I could build on bread board for RF detector. Had a meter that was not sensitive enough to work. Ordered this one and installed it. Now my gadget works with even hand held transceiver on 1 watt. I can now check field of my HF set at power and see how my home brew antennas work.

Used on my model RR layout on 18v power supply. Already have one on 12v supply. I use it as a “gross†indicator of current. Have checked with a DVM and is close enough.
