I began using a body pillow over 40 years ago. When I was pregnant my mother gave me a homemade, feather filled pillow (we call it a body pillow now) shaped like a tube sausage. It was the most wonderful thing! I could finally sleep without back pain. I used this pillow for many years; she was re-stuffed and recovered over and over again, until finally there was no way to resuscitate her. Since her demise I have had a number of replacements. My body pillows have even traveled with me over the years, and several times (if I could not travel with her i.e. overseas) I would find an inexpensive one just for the trip. My most recent one, being quite a few years old, began to beg for retirement. After searching and researching, I found this one for a great price on Amazon Labor Day Sale. When the pillow arrived it was reminiscent of a snow colored Vie-een-ah sausage only a very large vacuum packed one. It was tightly rolled and incased in a zippered clear plastic case (just like a real sausage!). Once out of the plastic case, the vacuum packed seal was cut open. Taking the tag team approach to the now hash brown patty-like pillow we pulled it out of the casing only to witness an almost miracle...the Vie-een-ah sausage cum hash brown patty was now slowly morphing into a giant rectangular marshmallow! WOW! If Jet-Puffed or Campfire could see this they would turn green with envy! With some pumping, pulling, patting, and poofing the giant marshmallow pillow began to take form. But as recommended, I let it rest about 36 hours before a night time taste test. It works like a dream, but at its present new state is a bit on the too fluffy side. I imagine though after my being accustomed to a much flatter pillow, both the pillow and me will adapt just fine with a little time.This 20x54 polyester, customizable memory foam body pillow offers great support for the short as well as the tall. The pillow is described as being hypoallergenic. The cubes of memory foam can be moved around to offer greater support where needed or wanted. It is firm but not so tightly packed as to preclude softness. At the risk of sounding strange, it is firm yet soft at the same time. The pillow covering is a soft, sturdy quilted material with a zipper to allow ready access to the foam for easy adjusting. There is no pillow case/slip. The pillow weighs 5.7 lbs which seems like a really heavy pillow, and I guess it is. But it also has to be somewhat substantial to do its job. If one can carry a 5 lb bag of flour, then this pillow can also be carried. The weight is distributed over the length of the pillow, so the entire 5.7 lbs is not resting on the hand all at the same time. It is somewhat bulky and for a small person perhaps cumbersome; it is most likely too bulky for convenient travel. During the nights I have used this my back, head, and knees have all whispered a collective "thank you" in the morning. In order to alleviate any humps of bumps in the foam distribution, I still need more usage time. This body pillow is larger than I expected, and it fluffed up nicely after just one day. Even before it fully fluffed up, it was still very soft and comfortable. I love the dual-sided design – one side has a diamond pattern, while the other is flat, giving me options for different feels. Best body pillow I’ve ever owned. I love the fluffiness along with the durability. The thickness is perfect for me. The memory foams inside the pillow adjust nicely with my curves. This helps me to relax and fall asleep faster. The material of the pillow keeps a cool feeling.

When I first opened this pillow I thought I was going to have to return it as it looked only half filled. Since the instructions indicated it would take 1-2 days for the foam to reach its full size I was patient but skeptical. I'm happy to report that after 2 days it filled out the rest of the pillow and there was a perfect amount of foam inside. Its quite comfortable and a great addition for any side sleeper.
