I purchased a package of these about three to five years ago. More as a lark, an impulse buy. Still, I do like these types of soup spoons. Most are plastic or weak, and don't last. These have been amazing, especially as I have gotten into homemade stocks, thus soups and stews. There is more volume. European spoons are good for some things, but not for actual soup... almost might as well use a fork!I ended up liking these so much, I added a couple more packages to my recent purchases. One more pack for hereabouts, one as a gift. My guess is, the recipients don't yet realize how good these are. Once they try them, they will never look back. It really allows a sturdy consumption of soups and stews, probably desserts too, if I don't have such often.Yes, they are stainless. Yes, they are very strong, hold up well. I... have mistreated them in soaking them too long (in softened water), stepping on one or two (as a very big boy), and leaving them to their designs... as a rusty bachelor. If they can handle my ministrations, I suggest they can survive almost anything. Simple things, which work, and not even made in China. Enjoy.

first time i saw these big bowl spoons in stainless, i thought about it, & i remembered how much i'd enjoyed using this style spoon for soup when at asian restaurants, but those are always ceramic & not practical for much other than home. the durable yet lightweight stainless construction & economical 12 pack means i can have a few at home, as well as include 1 or 2 in all my mess kits for hiking & camping since they work so well for soup & other meals commonly prepared at camp, really anything you eat with a spoon!the flat bottom makes it convenient to set the spoon down & not have it spill, like if you are cooking & want to taste how the flavor is developing but it's too hot, or if what you've been served is too hot, just fill the spoon, set it down, & let it cool, then sample & enjoy!only complaint is the short handle which makes it harder to use with deep containers, but with any longer handle it wouldn't function as it does, so oh well!

I have had these spoons for a couple years and have really enjoyed using them over their plastic brethren. Overall I still prefer ceramic but they are expensive, britel, and and I tend to only use them for nicer occasions. These are easy to clean and have proved to be pretty durable (I have run them in the garbage disposal and they have managed to hold up well even then (see Pic)) so they are nice to have around for tasting or normal usage. They do not get super hot even after being in very hot soup which is nice.After a few years of dishwashing a couple of the spoons are beginning to tarnish (see Pic). I also wish they were hooked since the small handle tends to capsize into soup if you are not paying attention. But for the price I am pretty happy with what they have done, and have even purchased for others as gifts.

These are a lot more durable than my old ones from Taiwan of the same model. The steel is thicker and sturdier, but still knife like despite the rounded edges. Won't cut you as you eat but can be used to slice cooked meat. The handle feels short somehow, and sometimes it slides into the bowl. Still great to use for cereal, soup, and rice though. I have a vague feeling it tastes kind of metallic, but maybe that will go away. It went through the dishwasher without an issue.

My family just loves to go out for Chinese food! My two children especially enjoy it and still ask about the soup spoons every time we go, my 10 year old, “Mom, where do they get these spoons? Can we get some for home?...†my daughter used to have one we bought from our favorite restaurant when she was little! As my oldest entered high school we often order Chinese to pick up and take home...I have been looking to purchase a set of these for some time.I was thrilled to find these spoons for our Chinese food carry out nights!The stainless steel is strong for the heavy use in our home.They are a slight bit more shallow and long than the ones we use at the restaurant, holding about the same amount just a bit differently.Being stainless steel I don’t think there is much worry about harmful chemicals at least compared to the plastic type melamine spoons that I know can not be used at higher temperatures.I am splitting up this set of 12 to give my children 4 spoons each that they can take with them when they graduate, they can take them to college and these may even last for them to share with their own family someday! Maybe Chinese carry out with my grandchildren someday!

Had these for over two years and they're still going strong. Bought them to reduce disposable utensils when we eat out and they're so light and slim that it takes up little space to put 4 in my bag. Thin enough to use like a sharp butter knife but safe enough for toddlers to use. Although made of metal, the handle remains cool enough to use with hot soups and the spoon doesn't burn you from the heat. I even reach for these at home over ceramic spoons. Haven't lost one yet but I wouldn't hesitate to buy another pack so I that I never run out.

Made of very thin metal , too light be a likable soup spoon. Shallow and flat bottom give me very unpleasant sensation of the swollen lip while eating. We are not going to be using them. Feels very cheap and same set costs only £3 on eBay.I will look for a proper spoons elsewhere.
