My husband and I like everything about this product. It makes a consistency of ice that is so akin to snow that they are hard to tell apart. They can be eaten plain or with flavors such as "flavor-aid, kool-aid" without having to buy expensive bottled flavors which contain a large amount of corn syrup or other unhealthy sweeteners. This snow machine, ice shaver, makes ice taste so GOOD and have such a GREAT texture that it can be used as a diet plan, no joke! I have been replacing snacks and sweet drinks with this machine several times a day and have lost weight already. You can make EXPENSIVE coffee drinks such as those bought at big chain coffee shops and fast food dairy and burger joints. Frappe, "Moo-Latte" (Dairy Queens' Coffee Slushee) and top these with whipped cream and caramel drizzle or get creative and make your own formula. Very healthy smoothies and ice, slush based drinks with real fruit pureed and truly store this ice in separate bags if you want the ice ready in a hurry as it will fill a standard ice bag in less than ten minutes and last in the refrigerator freezer or deep freezer. It can be used as a "lemonade, slushee or sno-cone" stand ice machine as it produces many pounds of ice per hour as it claims. This would be good for a fundraising event, movie night, birthday parties, weddings or adult beverage bars. Enjoy this product! It is truly worth the price!

What’s to dislike? It’s fast, the ice is delectable & long lasting in the refrigerator after crushing! It didn’t take long to understand that the bowl needs to be rotated as it fills, might need to be lifted closer to the exit, but it works so quickly that it’s a minor thing. The demo that I watched suggested towels underneath & he was right. I went to the dollar store, but the only had small bath mats & I purchased 3. I left it folded in half, should’ve washed them, but didn’t & put it under the machine. Perfect! I do put a folded wad of paper towels right under the exit to catch the copious drips as it dries - if it gets too wet , I wring them out & put in others. I could let the towel/rug soak it up, but then I’d have to move the awkward & somewhat heavy machine to dry it. As it is, I wait until I’ve used it a few times & then remove the damp rug & let it air dry. The machine makes a fair amount of noise (check out one of the videos), but it doesn’t last more than a minute to do one receptacle - use a cup like the ones that come with the food product, Just Crack An Egg - they fit perfectly in it! This little ice shaver is great, especially for the price. It seems to be solid construction and it is fast. Using regular ice cubes (the rounded half circle kind) it will take less than a minute to grind it up into fluff. The auto shut off if the press is raised is also a nice feature to have. Overall, it isn't too loud either :)Key takeaways:If you want true Hawaiian shaved ice, freeze a solid block of ice in a solo cup or other container that will fit to this machine. This will ensure the proper consistency for shaved ice.If you don't mind a shaved ice mix with larger snow cone chunky ice, use ice cubes. For the most part it will be snow consistency until the grinder gets to the smaller pieces.Put a towel under the machine, as the ice melts it will drip and the pan will not collect it all.I use mine on the edge of the counter so that a cup can fit up through the hole (hidden under the pan) and not block the dispensing chute. If the chute is blocked, the shaved ice will get packed in and stuck (until it melts).I do wish that the hopper was just a little bit longer. To get a cup directly beneath the chute is a little awkward and I haven't used the pan it comes with since the first day. If you do use the pan, you will have to rotate it so that the shaved ice doesn't build up in one spot and block the chute (see previous comment).

I bought this because another customer used it for halo halo (“hallow hallowâ€). And I can attest that this works well for making the national dessert of the Philippines. My mom is 75 and she never made halo halo before. So on game night, the game rulebook instructions clearly mentioned that the mom can provide snacks for adventurers - so we had halo halo. It was her first time and she made us each a cup without any calls for technical support and the halo halo was simple but satisfyingly good.It was very simple: shaved ice, milk, vanilla ice cream, sweet beans, pineapple jellies, and green pinipig (rice krispies).Halo halo can be very expensive, especially with price inflation and gas costs. So being able to have halo halo on a hot summer afternoon at home was terrific!

Fast arrival, no pre-use setup.Does a great job of shaving ice. Motor seems powerful, ice cubes turned into shaved ice quickly.Only thing I wish it had was the ability to change setting from finely shaved to coarser particles.It is a fair sized appliance, not one of the lighter weight"snowcone" type shavers.I'm impressed with it so far.

The ice crusher shaves ice finely. We enjoyed making different deserts with it. It’s very sturdy unlike the plastic ones sold in department stores. The only downside is that ice shavings scatter and spill out of the metal container/bowl it comes with. It would be great if the container was deeper. We just use a different bowl to catch the ice shavings. Other than that, it works great!

So, my wife is from the Philippines. She knows what shaved ice should be like and she tells me that the Zeny is awesome. Its almost like snow. Plus, it had plenty of power. I am glad that we went more expensive and didn't cheap out. Highly recommended for those that want snow cones, halo halo etc etc.

It's so nice to have one. The only thing is the container for the crushed ice was so small. But we can use other bigger container for it.
