This fit perfectly into the large threaded hole on the radiator hose "connector housing" on my Mahindra 2540 with 2.7L 4-cylinder engine. I've never used an engine block heater like this and was surprised at how well it worked. I have it plugged into a remote controlled outlet box that I also plug two magnetic oil pan heaters into. From my 2nd floor in the house with the remote switch, I can turn on all three heaters on the tractor with the push of a button. The two times I've done this I turned the heaters on about two hours before starting, and believe me it really works. Without the coolant heater it takes a couple seconds longer to start, even at temps up to 45F. The manufacturer advised me that this kind of "immersion" coolant heater is the most efficient and effective. I'm very pleased with the purchase and I hope it provides many years of "easy starting".

This is a well made (in USA) product, although I am not that fond of the electrical connection; it works, but I would have liked to see something more secure, especially if it's installed in a tractor. I took one star off because of the connection. This unit has the 3/4" NPT thread; they also offer one with a 1" thread.MAKE SURE YOU BUY THE RIGHT ONE!There's several people who have mentioned that you can use a 3/4" to 1" bushing; this is NOT advisable, as it limits the heating element reach into the coolant in the engine block. Basically, if you use this (3/4") version with a 1" bushing you will lose a lot of heating efficiency. There's also the risk of the unit overheating, as the heating element isn't really surrounded by cooling fluid. One small reference point: the Kubota B2601 has a 1" thread, not a 3/4" thread. The correct unit for the B2601 is therefore Zerostart 310-0003, not THIS one!

This site and the manufacturer's site both indicate this would fit my Kubota B1550, with the use of a 3/4 to 1" adapter. Does not fit. My little Kubota has press-in freeze plugs, not screw in... I returned this and will have to consider other options. Knocking out the dinky freeze plug on the left side of the motor may be in the future, but it's not happening any time soon.

My JD 775 would never start without giving it a spray of ether , which I didn't really like doing. Plug it in now for an hour and it starts right up
