I had an old hose connection which would slip out of a connector so I decided to try this out. It was pretty straightforward to install and is sturdy and provides a strong, leak proof connection. My hose was still good so it was a good option and should provide me more years of use. The things I like about the coupling are: 1) It is easy to install and very sturdy. I have a couple of soaker hoses that have plastic clamps similar to this metal clamp and some critter likes to chew on the plastic so I expect them to eventually fail. this coupling is metal so avoids that problem; and 2) As long as I have a gasket on what I am connecting to, the seal is tight. Too often that is not the case and a hose often leaks at the connection.Simple, sturdy and effective. The one issue is it is a bit large but I am not concerned about that as it works so well.

Was a little hard to put in the hose so I just put the hose in hot water for 15 seconds and the fitting went in easily. No leaks!I recommend this.

Installation consisted of cutting straight behind torn part of hose, inserting the gold threaded part, taking out the screws of clamp, placing clamp against gold part around the hose, tightening screws.Clamp seems durable and shock resistant. Very helpful at this price point.Fits snuggly, and the second hump of the gold piece needs a little extra pressure than the first.Water flow is seamless, and it looks nice. Works as it should.

I bought these to keep in reserve, but they otherwise appear of high quality and fit. There are many 'look-alike' hose menders on Amazon, and many/most have aluminum fittings (which is not necessarily inappropriate).But just to clear things up, the menders I received have solid BRASS fittings. There are many grades of brass, and these are a yellow brass indicating a high zinc to copper percentage. Yellow brass is harder and more durable.The clamps are advertised as ZINC, and that looks to be the case. They are likely a zinc alloy and look quite suitable.Screws are advertised as stainless steel, and while they are magnetic, their appearance is 'stainless'. Not all stainless steel is non-magnetic. These screws have a fine thread, making for more securing pressure against the clamps.So, bottom line .... Happy Camper. Oh, and good price., too.NOTE: I sized these to a 5/8" hose scrap, and they will fit 5/8". Can understand why some reviewers complained though about 3/4" hose leaking (here and on other brands). Best to get a 3/4" mender for a 3/4" hose.Easier Hose Mending:- use oscillating tool to easily cut hose. may require reaming the inside of the hose to remove debris.- do not leave hose in sun to soften.- instead, microwave 1 cup of water 1.5 mins and place cut end of hose in water. allow a couple of minutes to soften hose end.- wrap fitting in tape (to prevent scratching) and clamp vise-grips to fitting. use vise-grips to 'screw' the fitting into the soften hose end while holding the yet firm hose.- if it gets stuck, just re-heat water (say, 2 mins) and repeat with fitting in place. be careful with the scalding water.- start screws manually. tighten screws with manual screwdriver. final tightening with slotted head screwdriver, alternately tightening the screws to keep the clamp faces parallel.- on 5/8" hose, the clamps should close completely.using a slotted driver will reduce possible damage to screw heads. be careful not to strip the threads in the otherwise softer clamps.

The end of my garden hose was run over by the lawnmower. I bought this in hopes of saving my favorite garden hose. I was skeptical at first. It worked hose was fixed and works. It was easy to put on and doesn’t leak.

I left the water on overnight and blew a hole in my old hose. Bought this part, and now I have two (old) hoses... a long one and a short one! Well made part and easy to apply. Shipped quickly and a reasonable price.

Really not much to ramble on about here with this repair clamp for our garden hose. it fit perfectly, nice and tight, and was very easy to install. very sturdy and durable as well, this should last the life of your hose.good buy, quality product.
